Auckland and New Zealand are famous for being expensive destinations to visit, however there are still some amazing free things to do! The best is the Winter Gardens in the beautiful Auckland domain, located near the Auckland National Museum it’s a great stop that’s totally free or charge. The garden is made up of two huge greenhouses, connecting forecourt and an out of this world fernery. I wasn’t expecting it to be this stunning but I was blown away, the greenhouses contain immaculately maintained flowers - some I have never seen before. The forecourt was water features, statues, benches and ornate hedges - there is also a lot of information around the flowers to help you understand their origin and their purpose. For me a highlight was the fernery, a huge outdoor area full of ferns that made me feel like I was in Jurassic park - it felt like I’d been transported to another world. The garden is a listed and protected monument of NZ, it was finished in 1928 and has had various refurbishments over the years. I didn't expect that there is such a beautiful greenhouse garden in the center of Auckland. We took the bus to the Holy Trinity Cathedral and visited there. The entire Central Park is huge, vast and lush. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk from the park entrance to the Central Greenhouse Garden. You need to climb a slope on the way, and many people drive there by themselves. The glass-shaped exterior design echoes the blue sky and is very beautiful. This is a #free-ticket attraction. We went there on Saturday at noon and there were not many people. What caught our eyes were the flowers that were well taken care of. The flowers were in great condition and very suitable for taking beautiful photos. There is also a large pool in the middle, which looks beautiful no matter how you take pictures. There are two greenhouses in total, and another one belongs to the tropical rainforest. It is also beautiful to take pictures there. The feeling of greenery surrounded by nature makes people feel relaxed and happy! Actually, I didn't plan to visit this attraction. The Auckland Domain is one of the city's oldest and largest parks, situated near the central business district. It consists of two main greenhouses, the Fernz Fernery and the Tropical House, as well as a courtyard area.
