Dormy Inn Morioka Corner Twin Room (Breakfast Included)
Dormy Inn Morioka is part of the Dormy Inn chain and is located in Morioka, the capital city of Iwate Prefecture. Compared to other regions, the prices at Dormy Inn here are quite reasonable. A twin room with breakfast is priced at 9,000 yen.
At the time of booking, single rooms were priced in the upper 7,000 yen range. The location is somewhat inconvenient, as it takes about 4 minutes by bus or 16 minutes on foot from Morioka Station, which is served by the Shinkansen.
This is my third visit to Morioka, but previously I only visited for cold noodles and Starbucks. This time, I stayed for 18 hours, enjoying accommodations, sightseeing in the city, and indulging in jajamen, soba, and afternoon tea.
The top floor features a natural hot spring public bath with an open-air bath, built with modern facilities. The baths are spacious and offer a relaxing atmosphere, with views of Morioka's cityscape.
Upon checking in and entering the room, I found sweets and bottled water prepared as welcome food and drinks in the refrigerator. This was a pleasant surprise, as I had never experienced this at Dormy Inn before.
In the public bath area, ice candy is provided in the evening, and yogurt is available in the morning, making it perfect for a refreshing treat after soaking in the hot springs. The nighttime snack soba and freshly brewed coffee are also not to be missed.
The bathroom in the room is a shower booth type. Although it is a corner room, one side faces a residential building, while the other side offers views of the city and distant mountains in the morning.
The breakfast, a highlight of Dormy Inn, is slightly different from other locations, offering only three types of sashimi, which might feel lacking. However, there is a hot plate omelet station and a live cooking corner for Morioka cold noodles.
The fruit selection is abundant, featuring Hokkaido melons with impressive sweetness. As expected, Dormy Inn's breakfast does not disappoint. After enjoying a morning soak in the hot springs, I checked out at 8 AM and started my day. Thank you.
