Fairfield by Marriott Seoul Ho-kangs Family Room (Connecting Room) Park View (Wide Railroad View)
#Ho-kangs
I'm booking a family room at Fairfield by Marriott Seoul Hotel. I'm planning a ho-kangs with my former colleagues in Seoul. The three of us have been to Japan twice.
I've been to vacation homes and condos in Korea together, but this is my first time staying at a hotel. The family room here is a connecting room, as I've read in many reviews.
I made a reservation because I thought it had two bathtubs and three beds. Check-in is around 6 PM after finishing other schedules during the day. There were about 5 groups in line even then.
I heard that waiting for an hour around 3 PM on weekends is standard, so I guess it's because of the status of a low-cost brand hotel. I heard that people stay here dozens of nights a year to maintain their hotel tier.
Because the check-in was late, the 10th floor park view (train view) was waiting for us. I've heard reviews that the train noise is loud, but it's okay because it's an open view.
Also, in Japanese hotels, there were cases where they passed under the hotel building, and I slept in a hotel at the airport, so it wasn't a big problem. I'm not a train or air nerd, though. 🤣
When checking in, they said that twin/king was a combination of super king/single >< Super king is two doubles attached, so twin is Hollywood type~! It's really spacious.
As expected of a vacation, there are smart TVs that can watch Netflix or YouTube, and most of the accounts that went there didn't log out, so Netflix was activated in both places. 😂
The reception is on the 1st floor, and parking is 15,000 won per car per night. One of my friends suddenly had to work overtime, so he informed me that he couldn't come.
So we each got a room and stayed together. The card key is set to only one door, so you can enter and exit from one place, but you can exit from both places.
I've stayed in rooms with locked connecting rooms, but this is a fun room with a door that opens even though I booked one room as a family room.
The bathroom is a shower booth and there is no separate bidet. The size of one room is 21 square meters, so it's not very small. Breakfast is available on site.
The receipt shows the name of another company, so it seems to be outsourced to an external company. Guests are given a coupon that can be used for a 25% discount of 16,500 won.
When checking in, the manager also issues an additional duplicate coupon manually, so you can use it for 15,500 won by adding two 1,000 won coupons. It's not bad if you eat at a discount for hotel breakfast.
There is a Starbucks and a Seven Seven convenience store on the first floor of the hotel building, so it's convenient. The location is great, and I think it's good for this price and this level of condition. Thank you.
