Taipei Sichuan Restaurant "Hua Niang Bistro" - Dragon Boat Festival Family Gathering
Taipei Sichuan Restaurant "Hua Niang Bistro" is a great choice for a family gathering during the Dragon Boat Festival. We made a reservation a month in advance at Hua Niang Bistro, which has recently gained popularity thanks to Jensen Huang. Brought the elders here to enjoy a meal and ride the wave of its fame 😆
Fly Head ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The chives are incredibly fresh and crispy, absolutely delicious.
Spicy Boiled Beef ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full of aroma, the beef is tender.
Screw Rolls ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Made into small pieces and drizzled with condensed milk, kids' favorite.
Basil Omelette ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tasty, a classic home-style dish.
Stir-fried Stinky Tofu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Has a spicy kick, stinky tofu is a bit firm.
Jungle Spicy Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Made with chicken thigh meat, not spicy but also not particularly memorable.
Dry Pot Cauliflower ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quite good, but lacks aroma.
Pan-fried Beef Short Ribs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The short ribs are tender and delicious.
Chinese Yam Chicken Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stewed with Chinese herbs, very flavorful.
Crispy Soy Fish ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A dish that's hard to go wrong with, ordered for the kids.
Twice-cooked Pork ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not very memorable.
There were three or four other dishes whose names I forgot. With 9 adults and 3 kids, we ate to our hearts' content and even packed some leftovers. The total cost was just over NT$10,000, making it both delicious and great value for money.
The restaurant has only three private rooms, and ours had a window view facing the street, which was the best one 🙂. If you want a private room, make sure to book early (minimum spend NT$8,000). However, the non-private seating is also clean, comfortable, and bright. Highly recommended for those who love spicy food and Sichuan cuisine 👍
