The moment I entered Gosu Cave, I felt like I had entered another world. The inside of the cave was filled with cool air, and the stalactites and stalagmites located here and there were shining brightly in the light. I couldn't help but be amazed by the mysterious appearance of nature that had been formed over thousands of years. As I went deeper into the cave, I could hear the sound of water dripping from the ceiling, and even that sound felt like a natural rhythm. The inside of the cave, softly illuminated by artificial lights, looked like a scene from a fantasy movie. #koreatrip While visiting Danyang we had the opportunity to visit the magnificient limestone formation at Gosu Cave, located 1 km away from the Intercity Terminal. Spanning 1700 meters in length, this ancient cave has shaped itself for over 500 million years!!!There are many spectacular rock formations of stalactites and stalagmites made from the calcium carbonate rich waters, forming arches, pillars and formations for millions of years!!! The interior is built with nice walkways and stairs for visitors to see the magnificient creation of nature wonders. There are many formations including the one which resembles Virgin Mary, Thousand Year Old Love rock etc for viewing. This is very spectacular part in our journey.

I took refuge in a cave because of the extremely hot weather. Entering the Danyang Gosu Cave, which is said to maintain a temperature of 14 degrees all year round, it felt chilly even in this hot weather. Gosu Cave is estimated to have formed about 500 million years ago, and various stalactites, stalagmites, and stone columns are beautifully developed, presenting visitors with a wondrous underground world. The interior of the cave is about 1,700 meters long, and there is an exploration course that takes about an hour. When you enter the cave, you will first be struck by the stalagmites and stalactites of various shapes, giving you the feeling of appreciating an ancient natural sculpture. In particular, the stone column named ‘Millennium Love’ is impressive as it looks like two stalagmites and stalactites have met and become one.

Unlike the flat Manjang Cave, Gosu Cave felt like a bit of an adventure. They gave out gloves at the entrance, and I thought it would be rough. I was surprised that the beautiful scenery of the cave unfolded at each section, and the stairs up and down, narrow paths, and other things made the journey harder than I thought. I think children would have a hard time. In Danyang, I stayed at the Danyang Tourist Hotel. In fact, there was only a motel nearby, so I was worried, but I couldn't sleep well at motels, so I ended up staying at an old hotel.
