You can learn about Shanghai's history in the exhibition hall, a unique building with a roof that seems to be submerged in the lake. A primitive village existed here more than 4,000 years ago, and after the construction of a city during the Qin and Tang dynasties, Songjiang Prefecture was established in 1277. Seven prefectures were established under it, one of which was Shanghai. In the past, Songjiang was the center of Shanghai, but the power has now reversed. The whole park is etched by beautiful water ways and green spaces. My favourite part of visiting were the beautiful old style buildings with their carvings and paintings. We went on the hottest day of the year and were surprised to see we were some of the only people there until we got heat stroke in the third hour of visiting! Take advantage of the ice cream stalls dotted around the park if visiting in the summer!

This park is amazing and needs several hours to be discovered completely. I couldn't do all today, so I need to come back. Especially the culture museum, which is partially located below the lake unfortunately I had to skip. A boat trip would be possible, too. Nevertheless there are so many beautiful parts created which combine the old history of this place and a modern look.

Take a day trip out towards the end of metro line 9 and check out the beautifully managed park. Feeling the Kyoto vibes immediately upon seeing the temple, then vibes immediately change to rather artsy architecture around the river. They even built a needle statue to commemorate the past when sewing is one of the main job in the district. Come late afternoon, stroll around 2-3hrs, and once the park’s closing (5pm), walk around 1 block away to get a beautiful sunset view! Getting There - Take metro line 9 to Songjiang University Town, then take taxi (or bus 松江15 to HuaDong ZhengFa DaXue) Tickets : Free entry. ¥70 for some museums and exhibition inside. Opening hours : 09:00-17:00 (last entry 16:00) Attractions - interesting architecture, Japanese-style temple, parks. If you have and can take the time, Guangfulin Relics Park is a worthwhile trip. It's located quite aways from downtown Shanghai in Songjiang District but the area is quite beautiful and farmland like in appearance. I went on a weekday in late February during Winter Break, shortly after Chinese New Year so even though there were quite a few people walking around the numbers were quite low. In turn this made you feel calm and want to stroll along at your own leisurely pace. You could also take pictures without other people around if wanted or holding others up waiting for you to take a picture with no people. It was fantastic to see for myself the buildings that look like they are floating on water and explore the surrounding land. It's also possible to take a boat ride around, eat a small lunch at KFC, and grab a coffee at Starbucks on the grounds. 😜😜😜 #staycation

Visiting Shanghai during the May Day holiday, the city was packed with traffic jams and crowds everywhere. Unable to enter Guangfulin, I decided to take some photos of the scenery from the outside, leaving a record of my visit with a touch of regret. I’ll save the full exploration for my next trip to Shanghai. The Shanghai Guangfulin Cultural Site is located on the northern side of Guangfulin Village in Songjiang District, Shanghai. This ancient site dates back 4,000 to 2,500 years and was discovered by local residents in 1958. Since then, it has undergone multiple excavations, covering an area of 24,000 square meters. The site is divided into three cultural layers, with the third layer identified as Guangfulin Culture in 2006. In 2013, Guangfulin was designated as a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit. On June 26, 2018, the first phase of the Guangfulin Cultural Site was officially completed and opened to the public.

Here you can see the Neolithic ruins of Shanghai, China. This Guangfulin is the oldest Neolithic ruins in Shanghai. It is currently developed into a cultural heritage park. The special feature of this place is the underwater museum. As you can see in the picture, it is located underwater under the roof. Admission is free, but you have to pay to see the ruins. I didn't go because I came here to visit the Oncecap Cafe, which has an old-fashioned feel, rather than the ruins. Instead, thanks to the well-maintained park, I was able to enjoy Guangfulin without getting bored. It was nice that there were various photo spots. The operating hours here are from 09:00 to 17:00. Guangfulin where you can take a leisurely walk in the park I couldn't go around Guangfulin with the kids because it's so big. The building that looks like it's floating on water is magnificent from afar. 1 If you go to the first exhibition hall, there is an underground exhibition hall under the water. The cost is 30 won. Students 15 won You can buy tickets with Meituwan, but not for foreigners. You can buy them directly at the ticket box. There's a KFC and Starbucks here too. There's a famous cafe, but it's so big that I couldn't find it.
