I took a tour where we saw the sites went to the town and enjoyed a meal for a full day trip of 8 hours. which was conducted just great! I'm not sure if I can leave the name of the company here and I don't quite remember but I went through TripAdvisor to find the tour and was very pleased. #7月發文留言活动2025 How to get to Guadape from Medellin on your own? If you want to go to Guatapé from Medellin on your own, take the metro to Terminal del Norte. On the first floor of the terminal, ticket window 18 sells bus tickets to Guadape (about 20,000 Colombian pesos one way, cash only). You can also book e-tickets using the Busbud mobile app. The bus journey takes about an hour and a half and passes a gas station on the way. If you plan to climb the famous monolith La Piedra del Peñol, be sure to get off at this station. If you don't speak Spanish, save photos of the monolith on your phone in advance and show them to the driver to avoid missing your stop. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the base of the monolith from the stairs next to the gas station, which is a great place to take photos. To reach the top, you need to buy a ticket on site (pay in cash). The ticket includes climbing about 675 steps. When you reach the top, you can overlook the magnificent lake view, which is breathtaking. After going down the mountain, you can wait for the minibus (ticket price is about 3,000 COP) to go to the picturesque town of Guadape. Although the town is small, the colorful walls and quiet churches make people linger. Strolling through it, you can also find many specialty shops and street art. If you have enough time, it is recommended to go to the pier to join the lake cruise. The ticket price is about 30,000 COP, and a boat can depart with ten people. The guide is usually in Spanish. I took 6:45am bus which seems running frequently from Medellin North bus terminal. I got to the terminal by a bus, there is also metro station nearby to get there. It took about 2hrs. Pedra del Penol, we have to get off before the Guatape town. We can see the huge rock before that, so it was easy to notice the place. From the bus stop to the entrance, have to walk up on the steep hill before the rock entrance. Local people were driving up without the walking to there. It also has a option to take a taxi. It will take 10-15mins by walking. Actually that walk is a bit hard too. When I got to the gate, it was not crowded. The entrance fee was colombian 30,000pesos. We didn't need to wait for buying the tickets. There are 740steps. Many people take some break to get to the top, it locates above 2000m sea level, so the breathing isn't easy. However, the view from the top was stunning. We can see the view around 360 degrees. It is special unusual view. Its a easy day trip and worth the climb. #penol

Its a colourful and fun small town. Lots of tourist are there. Especially lunch time. Probably a couple of hours are enough to walk around. I recommmend to go early as possible as you can, before it gets busy. All are walking distance and we can see lots of drawing on the wall of the local houses. The drawings are variety, such as their life, nature, sceanary and culture, etc. I believe children are also able to enjoy there. It is very rare to see these kind of town. And there are lots of restaurants and cafe to enjoy. If you are going back to Medellin on the day, it would be better to book a bus ticket before start walking.. #guatape
