#summervacay If you’re looking for a fun, not-too-crazy hike around Incheon, Gyeyangsan is where it’s at. It’s not super tall or anything, but the views from the top? Totally worth the effort. The trail is pretty friendly, steep in a few spots, sure, but nothing wild, and there are stairs and signs to help you out. You’ll probably run into a bunch of locals doing their daily hike, and the vibe is super relaxed. On the way up, you get little peeks of the city, and once you hit the top, panoramic views of Incheon, the airport, and even Seoul on a clear day. There are a few resting spots where you can chill, snack, and just take it all in. Bring water, maybe a rice ball or two, and you’re set. Oh, and if you time it right, sunset up there is chef’s kiss. It’s the perfect little escape without going full wilderness. Highly recommend for a laid-back adventure.

Introducing Gyeyangsan Mountain located near Gyeyang Station! Go out exit 5 of Gyeyang Station in Incheon and go up straight. Even if you like hiking, you have to be nervous because there are a lot of stairs...! If you go to the top when the weather is good, you can see all of Incheon, and even Incheon Airport and Lotte Tower are spread out. The stairs are well-maintained and there are a lot of people, so if you just bring a lantern, you can easily go there and back.

It’s not some massive, fully-built castle or anything, but the old stone walls and gate ruins give off major ancient vibes. You can actually walk along parts of the fortress wall, and it’s wild to think how old everything is. History and hiking in one go? Kinda awesome. It’s quiet up there, not super touristy, so you can really take your time and just enjoy the scenery. There are signs (some with English) that give you a bit of background without turning it into a homework assignment. And the views from the fortress? A+ for Instagram shots. I visited Gyeyangsan, also known as a mountain for beginner hikers. Gyeyangsan is 395m high and you can reach the summit in less than an hour. I started at Gyeyang Park and went up to the summit, which took about an hour. It's called a beginner's mountain, but it can be a bit difficult because there are a lot of stairs.
