The dock area is a popular area for visitors. It is recommended to visit the M Shed Museum to learn more about Bristol. 📍The Bristol Port in the city center is quite old, with its history dating back to the 13th century. In the early 1800s the port area at the confluence of the River Avon and the River Frome was converted into a floating port. The tidal range of the River Avon averages 15 metres (the second highest in the world), and the water at the quayside is maintained at a constant draft through a system of canals, locks and pumps. The 70-acre site now has little import or export use; the heart of the region's port facilities is at Avonmouth, where the River Avon meets the Bristol Channel. 📍This is a very nice pedestrian area🚶♂️, with lots of cafes☕️ and restaurants🍪 along the way. During a weekend stay in Bristol. I discovered the harbourside of Bristol. It quickly became one of my favourite areas to hang out. The area is very lively and colorful. It is filled with markets, bars, restaurants and ferry boats that offer tours. When the weather allows there's a lot of water sports like windsurfing, paddle and rowing can be seen happening. What I also love about the harbour side is it's location and proximity to many things. The city centre or the millenium square is not too far from here. And so you've easy access to the fairground there, we the curious musuem, planetarium, the bristol aquarium, m shed and the list goes on. Twice I also ate around the millenium square, good dining options around there. Besides exploring the food scene and many activities around the bristol harbour. I also recommend getting a boat tour. It is one of the best ways of seeing the harbourside. Being a big fan of stop motion animation. I had to visit Bristol, the home of aardman animations. You can tell from the claymation themed graffiti throughout the city. It's a gorgeous city with a lot of history. The harbour is peaceful and tranquil for a nice afternoon walk.
