#leedstrips The house is stunning with plenty of rooms to explore. By far the best decorated ceilings I've seen in a while. I also appreciate the free services available with the little shuttle bus to get those that struggle up and down the hills and ferry boat to shorten the trip to the walled garden. Beautiful grounds with plenty of walks to do. The tearooms are decent with reasonably priced hot drinks. Plenty of things to do for children as well.

We toured the State Rooms and walked through the long corridors, which were the backdrop for several party scenes. Additionally, the gardens and grounds of Harewood House are significant filming locations. The Brown-designed landscape and winding river provide a picturesque backdrop for the series. We took a boat across the lake to the beautiful gardens on the other side, perfectly recreating classic scenes. Once considered the finest Chinese wallpaper in the world, it depicts idealized scenes of Chinese life with vivid detail and color. According to restorers, this wallpaper was rare and precious at the time. It was made in Guangzhou in the mid-18th century and transported to England by the East India Company. This voucher allows you to purchase a half-price ticket to the estate, costing £11.25 (recently increased due to Christmas). The bus fare is £2. After alighting, follow the navigation to Harewood, a 5-minute walk to the estate entrance. There is a small blackboard at the entrance with a phone number (01132181000) to call for a free shuttle service. However, on our visit, they were busy, so we walked in, which took about 10 minutes. Once inside, there is a shuttle service available, but it's not really necessary as everything is quite close. The main attractions are the house and the back garden; other sights can be explored using the estate map. ⏰ It's recommended to spend 2-3 hours here and to arrive early, as it gets dark by 4 PM during winter, with last entry at 3:30 PM and closing at 5 PM. Consider having brunch before heading over. 🎄 Recently, the house was decorated for Christmas, but the festive lights inside felt a bit low-key, reminiscent of a karaoke bar, lacking the classical beauty. There are some Christmas markets outside selling various items, but overall, it's not as entertaining as expected. It's more about taking photos at the house, and it doesn't quite compare to Chinese aristocratic gardens like those in Suzhou. If you haven't purchased tickets online, you can show your round-trip bus ticket at the checkpoint to receive a 50% discount, making the ticket price £18. Clear sky is the most suitable. You can also lie in the huge lawn. Ticket price is 16 pounds 💷, tickets available for purchase on site . No student discount, but there is reportedly a bus discount. Directly taking Uber🚕 can bring people to the parking lot inside the estate. City center to the estate is about 13 pounds 💷. This is really worth seeing. It's my favorite among all the attractions I've been to in the UK so far.
