Hengji · Xuhui World | A touch of red in the magic city
Stepping into Xuhui World, I was amazed by the red color everywhere. I rarely see such bold color matching. It is said to be created by the world-renowned architect Jean Nouvel. It may look ordinary from the outside, but once you step in, you will find a different world. Since the upper floors are offices, most people can only take pictures from below. The view from above should be better.
This is not a traditional shopping center, but with its unique and highly recognizable exterior design, it has become one of the most curious projects in the industry this year, and it has attracted a lot of attention from non-industry friends even before it opened. As the new "face" of the Shanghai Xintiandi business district, THE ROOF is based on "art, fun, and humanities", accommodating multiple scenes of life, socializing, sharing, and creating. It is an innovative building that inspires new urban life!
The exterior color is described as "Danxia Red", and the inspiration comes from various ancient Chinese buildings. Just like straight men look at lipstick colors, they are clearly red, but under different precipitations and light, they will present different colors, giving the building vitality. This is also one of the reasons why many of our antique commercial projects often neglect and lack charm. The inner street is bold and flamboyant, drawing inspiration from the Danxia landform, using 15 different shades of red mixed together, seemingly randomly painted on the inner street facade, fully showing the fullness and layering of color. This wonderful gradient landscape is particularly shocking when you are in it. At the same time, plants are introduced to create a building facade composed of flower pots, forming a new living scene that is close to the neighborhood and conforms to the block concept.
From Hengji · Xuhui World, we should not only see the innovation and creativity of design, but also need to insight into the changes in consumer demand for commercial space and the future development trend of commerce.
