I visited Hengdian World Studio ‘Palace of Emperor Qin’ and I was impressed with the architectural structure of the palace. The ground is huge and I spent 1.5 hours exploring the site including watching the coronation of the emperor performance. Costumes are available for rent where visitors can dressed up for picture taking mimicking their favourite film stars I.e Miyue 羋月 Many popular Chinese dramas were filmed here. As I am a fan of ancient costume dramas, I am glad to have the chance to step on the site where some scenes were filmed. Hengdian comprises of more than 10 studios but unfortunately I only managed to spend half day at this attraction while enroute to Hangzhou. To cover all the studios, perhaps will need to allocate at least 3-5 days as the studios are spread across the town and some sites are only open in the afternoon. 📍Qing Ming Shang He Tu Let's follow the footsteps of Chinese period films at Hengdian Studio. We will spend a full day here at "Qing Ming Shang He Tu". This place opens from morning until evening. The scenes here are in the ancient Chinese style and you will see familiar scenes from the series. Plus, there are often drama crews here to film. You might actually see them filming. When we went, they were filming and they blocked off the area to be filmed. And the most prominent building was closed to set up the scene as well. Until the series aired, we found out that it was the scene of "Zhen Tower" in "Legend of Zhang Hai" that Xiao Zhan starred in. We went there about 2 days before Xiao Zhan started filming this series. It features Zhejiang Province's longest sightseeing cableway, stretching 1,310 meters with a one-way ride lasting about 22 minutes. The cable car offers spectacular views with wide vistas - we recommend trying the one-way ride if possible! The recommended route is taking the cableway up and hiking down, making a loop that takes about 3.5 hours total. The highest point is the seven-story Thousand Buddha Pagoda - you can climb to the top but the stairs are very narrow. Traveling is much more convenient. You can take the high-speed train from Shanghai directly to Hengdian.
