I started the day at the Hiroshima MOCA—the city’s modern art museum tucked into Hijiyama Park. The architecture itself is striking, and the museum’s peaceful surroundings made it the perfect start to the day. To get around, I hopped on Hiroshima’s iconic streetcars. They’re not just practical—they also add a charming retro vibe to the city experience. Of course, a visit to the Atomic Bomb Dome was essential. Standing there in silence, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history—and the hope that followed. Unlike other art museums, this museum exhibits relatively new art that is unique to this museum. I was particularly impressed by Joy Kawakubo's work "The New Clear Age." This work advocates the dangers of nuclear power plants, but although the work itself is already completed, it is scheduled to be released in 2029, so the museum currently has an empty frame.
