At dusk, we arrived at the banks of the Deer River. The river water ripples in the afterglow of the setting sun, and the buildings on the riverside are dyed with a layer of warm orange, like a dream. Strolling along the river bank, the breeze blowing on your face brings a sense of comfort. Occasionally, a few ducks play in the water, creating ripples and adding a bit of liveliness to this tranquil picture. As night falls, Leuven takes on another charming face. The lights on the streets gradually lit up, and the ancient buildings appeared more mysterious and charming under the lights. Find a streetside cafe, order a cup of fragrant coffee, watch the pedestrians coming and going outside the window, and feel the tranquility and warmth of this small town at night. Leuven, this small city that combines history, culture and life, is like a melodious piece of music. Every note can touch your soul and make people not want to leave once they come.

Back to Leuven, straight to the Town Hall! No hesitation Back on Belgian soil, this time I went straight to Leuven Town Hall! 🇧🇪 This building is an iconic landmark of Leuven, known for its stunning Gothic style, which is simply breathtaking. - First, a little history! Construction of Leuven Town Hall began in 1448 and was completed in 1469 after 21 years of hard work. The architects involved in the design were no ordinary people, such as Matheus de Layens and Jan II Keldermans, who were masters of architecture at the time. Since then, it has been the site of municipal affairs, witnessing the historical changes of Leuven, a "living history"! - In terms of architectural style, Leuven Town Hall is simply a model of Gothic architecture. The exterior is decorated with gorgeous carvings that are so exquisite that you want to take a picture and post it on social media! What's even cooler is that there are 236 statues on the exterior walls, depicting various historical and religious figures. These statues were added in the mid-19th century, and the original plan was not so "luxurious"! - A closer look reveals that the front facade of the Town Hall is divided into three levels, each of which is beautifully decorated. The spires and flying buttresses at the top give a sense of the medieval atmosphere. The interior is equally gorgeous, with murals and wood carvings complementing each other, a perfect combination of art and history. - Leuven Town Hall is not only a landmark of the city, but also an important part of Belgium's cultural heritage. It attracts countless tourists and history buffs to visit, and imagine being able to witness municipal events, weddings, and cultural events here, it's a social place!

Leuven has a magical vibe! It’s full of young people that attend its university, and this really reflects on the cultural and food offer in the city! It’s full of historical monuments, such as the townhall and the Arenberg Castle and also picturesque plazas, such as the Oude Markt and the Grote Markt! I specially loved Oude, which is called “the biggest bar in the world”, and out of all the offer my favorite was Farao (for cheap drinks - enjoy a local Stella for less than 3€) Aside from that, there are many restaurants with food from all over the world, I especially enjoyed Leo’s pancakes and Donki (Mexican food). But my favorite has to be the tiramisu from de Werf! 10/10 recommended. #food #belgium #Leuven

It makes people linger back and forth, as if time is flowing backwards. Leuven is also known for its beer culture, with many traditional breweries and bars. In many squares and alleys in the city center, you can find various bars and restaurants serving local specialties and beer 🍺.
