📍 Itinerary Overview ✨️ Must-Visit Attractions: Dean village, Old town and Royal Mile, Victoria street, Holywood park, National gallery of Scotland 🚇 Transportation: tram and bus 📷 Photo Spots: Dean Village, Victoria street, local antique shop and cafe 🏠 Accommodation: ibis budget 💡 Tips: Edinburgh Castle is actually looking nice from further rather than close up. Bring comfy shoes, and there are many stairs and hills in the old town you can travel to the near by town for fish and chip, apparently I like fish and chip here more than London's 🤣 Can't recommend enough about Dean village, absolutely my favourite photo spot

Of course, when you go to Scotland, you can’t miss the famous city - Edinburgh! Since our trip to Scotland was mainly to the High Land and Isle of Skye, and we only had two days in Edinburgh, we could only arrange to visit a few famous attractions. First, we went to Holyrood Park. I didn’t expect to have to climb a mountain on my first day in Scotland. This park is so big. Although it’s not a very high mountain, the wind is super strong. My jacket was blown away when I was taking pictures. I couldn’t catch it and it disappeared very quickly. 🙄 Looking down from here is the city of Edinburgh. I can see Edinburgh City, National Monument of Scotland, Carlton hill... On the way back, I kept an eye out to see if I could miraculously find my jacket. Unfortunately, the color of my jacket was the same green as the mountain and I couldn’t find it. 🫣 Around nine o'clock in the evening, I went to Carlton hill to watch the sunset. The scenery was beautiful and worth a visit! Although the sun had set, it was not completely dark yet. I planned to stay a little longer to watch the clock tower light up, but it was past ten o'clock and no lights were on yet, only the castle. It was a bit cold and windy, so I left and went back to the hostel without waiting to see the night view.

📍 Arthur's Seat - Edinburgh, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 One of my favourite places of all time is the majestic and regal city of Edinburgh. Whether you're looking for a dose of history, dose of retail therapy or a dose of scenery, the city has something to offer you. So why not see the whole lot from 800ft high? 👑 Part of the Royal Holyroodhouse Palace's park, Arthur's Seat overlooks the city. It's a moderate climb and I'm not particularly a keen hiker but it was still more than manageable. 🔎 Once at the top, the views are simply breathtaking. On a clear day, you'll spot familiar sights like Edinburgh Castle, the Holyroodhouse Palace and the Royal Mile (Picture 1). You can also glance over to the industrial suburbs that blend in nicely to the sweeping coastline (Picture 2). 🦢 On the way down you'll come across a beautiful miniature piece of water, St. Margaret's Loch (Picture 3) - on a good day you may be lucky enough to spot some swans. 📷 My legs were hurting now after all that walking but I was so glad to have got a delightful glimpse of Edinburgh. The contrasting New Town scenery to the Old Town and Royal Mile delights and the seaside suburbs offer a view that can't be matched from anywhere else in the area. 🍦 Once I reached the bottom of the hill, I looked out closely and could spot an ice cream van - just what I needed! Excellent city and sea views from the summit, where you can see Edinburgh Castle from high up and on a clear day, see the three impressive Forth Bridges. The top of Arthur's seat, an extinct volcano, is not far from Edinburgh city centre, with good rocky paths all the way up. It's about a 45-60 minute walk each way. After the hike, return to the city for a well deserved break at any of the city's restaurants.

Actually, as a Harry Potter fanatic, I searched for places like I was possessed and explored them! Victoria Street, Museum Contact, a Harry Potter store, the cemetery with the Tom Riddle and McGonagall tombstones that were actually used in the movie, and even the school that inspired Hogwarts! If you just look at these, I think you've seen all of Edinburgh.😁🫢 In addition, you can see busking on the main road of Edinburgh and if you like nature, I recommend Calton Hill and Holyrood Park

There are too many recommended spots in Holyrood Park: the highest point in Edinburgh, Arthur's Seat, is only for the brave; this is also the filming location of Anne Hathaway's movie "One Day" It looks like a hill and rocks, quite gentle, but don't relax your vigilance because climbing here is different from our usual mountain climbing, some places are quite dangerous because there is no path on the slope! The park maintains a certain wildness, quite muddy, and you will get your feet wet all the way down. Hiking the Hohlrüdi Trail is a very challenging experience!
