A rare bicycle god
📍Bicycle shrine (God of traffic safety)
There is a very rare shrine in Innoshima that enshrines the god of bicycles.
In addition to road safety and travel safety, he is the guardian deity of bicycles, who also has the benefit of preventing theft.
Let me introduce you to the bicycle shrine on the Shimanami Kaido, a sacred place for cyclists.
As you can see by enlarging the map (below), the bicycle shrine is accessed by climbing the stairs from Prefectural Route 120 in Innoshima.
If you come by bicycle,
take your bicycle up the slope to the left of the main torii gate along the prefectural road,
and continue straight into the shrine grounds.
There are bicycle stand hangers lined up, so park your bike there and pray.
Watashi-no-Okami, the guardian deity of traffic and the god of bridges, is enshrined here.
Apparently, it all started when the rest area in the grounds of Oyama Shrine was opened to cyclists who gathered on the Shimanami Kaido.
Word of mouth spread and it came to be called "Bicycle Shrine" because people could pray for safety on the roads and on their journeys while cycling.
Incidentally, Oyama Shrine is the oldest shrine in Innoshima, founded in 773 (4th year of the Hoki era).

[Shimanami Kaido] Innoshima gourmet🍴︎ Six Continents
I'd like to introduce a recommended cafe located in Innoshima, an island on the Shimanami Kaido 🪄︎︎
It's a stylish shop like a log house, and the interior has a somewhat antique atmosphere!
It's a popular shop, so you have to wait, but I arrived around 13:40 on a weekday and was able to get in without waiting!! !
I ordered the shop's popular menu, the Rokutairiku Lunch 🧾
It was 2500 yen!
It was a mini seafood bowl with one more dish, fried horse mackerel 🐟
There were other small dishes, and the seafood bowl was also mini, but it was very filling ✨
The sashimi was thick-cut and plump‼ ️
It was very delicious and I was very satisfied 🥰
There were also a wide variety of other menu items, such as fried shrimp set meals and fried chicken set meals!
Please come and visit us 🤍

I went to "#Rokutairiku" in #Onomichi city, #Hiroshima prefecture ((((((っ・ω・)っ
It's a stylish restaurant with a log cabin feel✿゚❀.(*´▽`*)❀.゚✿
The interior of the restaurant has a country feel with dried flowers and stuffed animals on display, and a fireplace ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )
I ordered the #Rokutairiku lunch (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
It was a mini seafood bowl, but the meat was so thick that it overflowed from the bowl (is that what makes it mini?) ∑(º ロº๑)❢❢
It was topped with about 9 kinds of seafood, and was very filling ∑d(≧▽≦*)
I don't know the name of the extra dish, but it was something like cold chawanmushi
The yuzu on top made it refreshing and delicious
