As one of Malaysia’s Dim Sum havens, Ipoh’s reputation for top-tier Dim Sum is well-earned. Our recent family visit to Ming Moon Dim Sum Restaurant in Ipoh was a delightful experience that beautifully blended traditional Chinese flavours with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine hospitality. The restaurant was bustling, especially during the morning hours, but the service remained efficient and attentive. Despite the crowd, we were seated quickly, and the Dim Sum trolleys made their rounds regularly.
The variety of Dim Sum was impressive, ranging from the classics like Har Kau (prawn dumplings) and Siew Mai (pork dumplings) to more unique options like Xiong Long Bao, Steamed Dumplings with Truffle, Black Sesame Balls with Oat, and Salted Egg Custard Buns, which were a hit with both the kids and adults. Each dish arrived hot and fresh, with well-presented, delicate flavours and textures that showed care in preparation.
What stood out most was the balance of quality and affordability. For a family of six, we enjoyed a hearty and satisfying meal with great value-for-money. The environment was clean and family-friendly, with spacious seating and good ventilation, important for a lively Dim Sum brunch.
Parking was convenient, and the location is easy to access, making it a great spot for weekend family get-togethers. Overall, Ming Moon Restaurant offers an authentic yet exquisitely, and enjoyable dim sum experience perfect for families.
