Tucked away in the charming town of Izukogen, the Izu Teddy Bear Museum is pure nostalgia and magic wrapped into one. But the real showstopper? The special Totoro exhibition on the second floor. Giant plush Totoro, Catbus, and whimsical Ghibli movie scenes reproduced with plush dolls make it a must-see, especially if you’re traveling with kids or are a Ghibli fan yourself. There is also a teddy bear workshop but they sell out fast, so definitely reserve online in advance! There are Ghibli workshop options too! This museum exhibits hudreds of teddy bears which inclde that famous Teddy Girl 1904 and various artist's creations. Some teddy bears wear Japanese traditional costume called kimono,I think you'll like them. I want to come back here in 2024.

I went to the teddy bear museum in Izu! There is plenty of parking, so it is an easy spot to get to by car when traveling to Izu. The museum is small in size, but is packed with charm and is very fulfilling. In addition to teddy bears, there are also Ghibli-related items and, during collaboration periods, there are exhibits of collaboration characters, so it seems like a place you can enjoy no matter how many times you go.
