Maldives Javakara Island
🏝️ I have to say the lagoon on this island is truly stunning—vast and featuring breathtaking four-colored glass-like waters. Although the hotel has been controversial due to seaweed issues, the island is exceptionally large, composed of two islands, so many areas actually have little to no seaweed, especially around the beach villas and in front of the restaurants. Plus, the presence of seaweed attracts more fish!
About Snorkeling
Javakara Island has 14 snorkeling spots around it. Particularly near the water villa jetty on Mabin Island and in front of the beach villa area, you can see various fish without even getting in the water—baby sharks, hawksbill turtles, manta rays, and stingrays. There’s even an underwater swing for a unique snorkeling photo op!
🇲🇻 Butler and Chinese Services
The island has two Chinese-speaking butlers, and many staff members know some basic Chinese, making it very friendly for Chinese guests. Upon arrival, you’ll be assigned a butler who can handle all your needs, including activity bookings, restaurant reservations, and transfers.
🏠 Room Experience
All room types at Javakara offer unobstructed ocean views with no wave breakers in sight.
🔸 The Overwater Pool Villa is highly recommended—perfect for sunrise and sunset views, especially during sunset when the pool makes for incredible photos.
🔸 Beach Villas come with or without pools, both offering direct beach access. Instead of a plant-lined path, you get your own stretch of sand, leading to a stunning sandbank perfect for photos.
🔸 Two-Bedroom Beach Villas feature a kids' room with twin beds and two bathrooms for convenience. The beach in front has two sets of sun loungers.
🔸 Three-Bedroom Beach Pool Villas include two master bedrooms and one kids' room with twin beds, plus an 8x5m pool. Ideal for family trips with parents and kids, it’s close to the main restaurant and kids' club.
🍴 Dining Experience
The island has 6 restaurants and 2 bars. The newly popular Vela buffet restaurant is on Dru Island, featuring a main pool, stunning lagoon views, and a bar serving specialty cocktails. Molo Mediterranean Italian Restaurant offers a three-course menu with panoramic ocean views. Umi Sea Restaurant, an Asian eatery, stands at the bridge between the two islands with an octagonal design. The menu is diverse, featuring Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine, though there’s no Chinese menu—staff will gladly recommend dishes.
Kids' Policy
During summer, two children under 12 can stay and dine for free. The kids' club offers free supervision for ages 4–11.99 (charged for under 4), with indoor and outdoor facilities, including a small water fountain.
Island Facilities
Mabin Island is huge, lush with greenery, and mainly features beach villas. It houses a golf course, kids' club, soccer field, tennis court, game room, garden spa, gym, and water sports center. Circling the island takes about 2 hours, and there’s even a public bus for easy exploration. Dru Island is adults-only (15+), accommodating up to three adults, and has an ocean spa.
