7 Seoul neighbourhood to explore (no Myeongdong or Hongdae!)
Seoul is the perfect city to explore, and here’s my favourite 7 neighbourhoods to explore:
1. Seongsu has become incredibly popular over the past few months. So many shops, pop-ups, cafes and food to choose from! Recommended: So Far 소파 (Olive oil & salt ice cream), Coffee Nap Roasters, Neungdong Minari.
2. Apgujeong-ro: Jayeondo salt bread (also in Seongsu), Standard System (Honeycomb latte!!)
3. Sinsa/Garosugil: our hotel was here (Voco) and we loved the neighbourhood! Perfect balance between local bars/restaurants, shopping, and cafes. Recommended: Villa Records bar, Acid House for brunch
4. Haebangchon: love the vibes! If you’re up for a small hike, head to Haebangchon Sinheung Market - very local and hip crowd. Recommended: Mr Ahn Craft Makgeolli
5. Mangwon: Mangwon market, Always August roaster
6. Anguk: love the mix between traditional hanoks and modern buildings. Many authentic eateries and bars. Recommended: 서촌가락 Socheon garak, Cham in season (Bar Cham’s newest sister bar)
7. Hapjeong: relatively close to Hongdae without the craziness but still very cool. Recommended: Okdongsik Seogyo (pork gomtang rice soup), cafe on Yanghwa bridge (literally) 카페 진정성
What’s your favourite neighbourhood? 😄#seoul
