[The most photogenic street map in Daegu🛍✨] The area around Jungang-ro Station is super fun to visit, it's basically a fashion runway for the city!
If you come to Daegu and only plan to have fun in E-World or take photos of Sky Castle, it would be a pity! The area around Jungang-ro Station is definitely a downtown living circle that you can't miss - it is a shopping paradise, a food mecca, a photo hotspot, and a meeting point where history and fashion intersect. To describe it in one sentence, it is: "More local than Myeongdong, more friendly than Hongdae!"
This time, when I came out of the "Jungangno Station" on Subway Line 1, I saw the bustling crowds and a wide range of shops in front of me. I instantly had the illusion of being in the center of Seoul. A few steps along the main street is the famous "Dongseong-ro Business District" - a whole row of ZARA, SPAO, OLIVE YOUNG, beauty brands, and Korean trendy clothing gathered together, and the prices are much more affordable than Seoul. There are also some style selection stores and Korean stationery stores on the way to shopping, and each one is worth stopping to dig for treasures.
What surprised me most was the density of coffee shops in this area, from simple industrial style, retro red brick style to cute literary style. In particular, a store called "Café Glory" is based on the theme of the renovation of Daegu old houses. Not only is the coffee smooth, but the window seats can also take pictures of the scenery like movie posters. The afternoon sun shines between the wooden windows and brick walls. I drink latte and look at the street scene, feeling an indescribable peace and satisfaction in my heart.
In addition to shopping and coffee, the cultural atmosphere near Jungang-ro Station is also very strong. For example, the "Yangnyeong City Korean Medicine Museum" can be reached within a 10-minute walk, where you can experience Korean herbal medicine bags and learn about the history of Korean medicine in Daegu; a little further away is the "Gyesan Church", a red brick Gothic building that is elegant and solemn, and is the location for many wedding photography. You can immerse yourself in the convenience of modern cities while reminiscing about the depth of Korean traditional culture.
If you are a person who likes nightlife, this place is even more lively at night. Neon lights light up the entire street, and you can also see street performances and live singing. The atmosphere is not inferior to Hongdae. At this time, eating some roadside snacks such as spicy stir-fried rice cakes, fried food platters, and fish cake soup, paired with a cup of hot corn tea, is simply a small happiness in life.
It is no exaggeration to say that I can spend 5 hours in this area without getting tired of it. From walking during the day to the night, from eating and drinking to shopping, every minute feels worth it. The best thing is that there is no sense of crowding here, whether you are traveling alone or with friends, you can enjoy the fun of exploration at ease.
In summary, the area around Jungangno Station is a "city essence concentration area" that allows you to forget time and feel the multi-faceted charm of Daegu. Whether you love taking photos, want to go shopping, or are fascinated by the Korean style, this place can satisfy your imagination of Korean street culture!
