🕰️Business Hours: 8:30-16:30 There are bus from Tokyo station every 20minutes, and it takes about 2hours to get there. I visited on mid-summer but i felt the temperature was cooler when i entered the shrine because of the shade of the trees and the breeze. I walk in to pray in the first shrine and going more further until going to the Mitarai pond. The water is clear blue, it was mystical with the torii and tree that grew sideways which is so unique. It was a refreshing day trip from Tokyo.

The menu, made with spring water and carefully selected ingredients, is very popular♪ The most popular dishes are the spring water soba and the three-color dango🍡 I actually tried them! The dango is quite large, topped with homemade miso, smooth bean paste, and brown honey soybean flour. It was very soft and had just the right amount of sweetness, making it a taste that everyone will love. The soba has a good flavor, and the sweetness of the shrimp tempura is addictive! Souvenirs and other items are sold inside the shop. Sacred sake is also sold in front of the shop, and I couldn't help but buy some. It's the perfect place to take a break after visiting the shrine! He is now famous for having had a strength contest with Takeminakata-no-Kami, the deity of Suwa Taisha Shrine in Nagano Prefecture. The Takemikazuchi-no-Okami that is worshipped here has a unique feature that is unique to Kashima Shrine. The one enshrined in the front shrine is the "Japanese spirit" of Takemikazuchi-no-Okami. The one enshrined in the inner shrine is the "Ara-tama" of Takemikazuchi-no-Okami. "Japanese spirit" symbolizes calmness, and "Ara-tama" symbolizes roughness, as the characters suggest. These two aspects coexist. That's why it's said that at the inner shrine, you can get courage and the blessings of starting something new! 🎶 Further on from the inner shrine is the "Keystone🪨". In the past, it was believed that the reason this area was shaking (earthquakes) was because catfish were raging underground! ️🙌 The keystone is what holds down the head and tail of the catfish😳 It's just a tiny stone🪨 peeking out from the ground, but it's actually a long stone rod stuck in it. Another place to see is the "Mitarai Pond". In the past, people would perform purification rituals here before worshiping. Akashihama Torii at Kashima Shrine in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Kashima Shrine is the Ichinomiya of Hitachi Province, with Ichinotorii gates on the east, west, north and south. This is located at the eastern torii gate ⛩. The wooden torii gate is the landmark. Although it has a quiet appearance, this place is a power spot that is said to be the beginning of ley lines. Ley lines are the paths of the sun. There are said to be several of them, but if you follow the path they take, you will find many power spots. A straight line connecting Kashima Shrine → Imperial Palace → Meiji Shrine → Mt. Fuji → Ise Shrine → Mt. Yoshino → Mt. Tsurugi → Takachiho Shrine. For this reason, this first place is said to be "the place where everything began." The ocean view is wonderful, but unfortunately there is a high breakwater.
