The wonderful story of lake was about a mermaid lived in Lago di Carezza. The wizard fall in love to mermaid, he made a rainbow on the lake to lure the mermaid to the surface. Unexpectedly, the mermaid became frightened when she saw the wizard and immediately ran back to the lake. Passionate Italian Journey (4) World Natural Heritage - Dolomites Verona-Bolzano-Verona April 23, 2025 (Day 3) Weather: Cloudy, 7-18 degrees. After yesterday's long flight followed by sightseeing, plus the effects of jet lag, I felt "dazed and confused" and "disoriented" in the evening, with low efficiency and mistakes in my travel journal. By 11 PM, I could barely stay awake and went straight to bed, sleeping soundly through the night. I woke up at 6 AM feeling refreshed and back to normal, ready to start a new day of exploration. After about two hours of driving, we headed north into the eastern foothills of the Alps - the Dolomites (Photo 1). The Dolomites, a world-famous tourist destination and outdoor sports paradise, is a World Natural Heritage site with 18 peaks averaging over 3,000 meters in height and 9 natural parks. The sun and mountain peaks appeared and disappeared intermittently. Among the many peaks, the 3,300-meter-high Geisler Peak, nicknamed the "most photogenic mountain peak," stands out (Photo 2). This area boasts Italy's most beautiful glaciers, forests, meadows, lakes, streams, and other landforms, with beautiful mountains and extraordinary peaks (Photo 3). The deep and long Val di Funes valley, situated at the foot of the Geisler Peak, has earned the reputation as the "Pearl of South Tyrol" (Photo 4). Upon entering Val di Funes, your eyes are greeted with fresh, lush greenery (Photo 5), well-arranged forests, and mountains embracing all sides (Photo 6). The Geisler Peak stands majestically behind the valley, like strong arms silently protecting the town and its residents (Photo 7). On the hillside, the spire of St. Magdalena Church, together with the surrounding traditional-style houses, verdant lawns, and distant forests, creates a beautiful rural landscape (Photo 8). Nearby Lake Carezza, at an altitude of over 1,600 meters, is a hidden gem in the Dolomites. This small lake formed by melting mountain snow and ice displays pure emerald-colored water, backed by snow-capped mountains, creating a scene of perfect beauty (Photo 9). By the time we finished touring the Dolomites, it was past 3 PM. This was the northernmost point of our Italian journey, and we drove south back to Verona to continue our afternoon itinerary. 16-day in-depth tour

Lake Tobbiaco is in a place called Bolzano. That place is full of local tourists and cute dogs! That place is almost adjacent to Austria, so you probably won't go there when you travel, but it was such a pretty place..ㅎ The second and third pictures are of Lake Carezza?? This is also in Bolzano. The color of the water is so incredibly pretty! Before going to Venice, I went to a place called Ortisei. I drove there and was really surprised!!

I think that traveling around the Dolomiti by rental car is by far the easiest way for travelers to do so. Lago di Carezza, known as the "Jewel of the Dolomiti," is known for its spectacular natural scenery. The lake is surrounded by beautiful conifers, and depending on the weather, even the conifers reflected on the lake's surface create a mystical atmosphere. The lake is located at an altitude of 1,520m, so the air is cool and clear. There is a promenade around the lake, and it takes about 20 minutes to go around it. There is also a bus from Bolzano Station. About 30 minutes.

Although summer has just ended in most parts of Italy, the Dolomites unexpectedly welcomed the first snowfall of the year last week, earlier than in previous years. In the last month of 2024, spend your time in the Dolomites and explore the winter wonderland. [Three-day, two-night itinerary in the Dolomites in winter] Day 1: Depart from Milan - Bolzano - Funes Valley Stroll through the town and check in at the iconic onion-domed church. Day 2: Ortisei Town - Alpe di Siusi Take the sightseeing cable car up to Alpe di Siusi and experience thrilling alpine skiing (if you like snow activities, you can try snow mountain hiking, snow carriage, or sledding, fulfilling all your winter expectations). Visiting Lake Karezza was an enchanting experience. The beautiful turquoise water surrounded by towering mountains creates a breathtaking view. Walking around the lake was enjoyable, as the color of the water changed with the reflection of the mountains. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, which made me feel at ease. I stopped by a nearby café for a snack, and the local cuisine was delicious and full of flavor. I recommend everyone to visit Lake Karezza to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility it offers. Karersee, located in the Dolomites of Italy, is a high-altitude alpine lake renowned for its emerald-like waters, resembling a green gem in the forest. Under the sunlight, the lake sparkles with a captivating green hue, drawing people closer.
