#traveldiaries While boating around the Mangrove Swarm we were brought to a boathouse to rest, and there are a few "special" pet by the fishermen. We saw two big manta ray and they are so gentle and obedient, which they can take orders from human, especially the Mantaray. They also showed us the big Tuna fish, barracuda and baby shark which has served as their pet for many years. There is also a restaurant that serves seafood for those who wishes to dine there. We had a great fun there seeing these wonderdul sea creatures, and we headed back to our boat after some rest.

First we will need to gather at Tanjung Rhu Jetty at 2pm, so we arrived early to have our quick lunch there, and make our way to the jetty at 1.50pm. They brought us to rhe speedboat and we slowly made our way deep into the mangrove forest. The mangrove forest spans a total area of 100km2, which is an ancient geoforest heritage which is almost 500 million years old!!! Deep down while crusing thru the valley and rivers, we get to see many monkeys in the mangrove jungle and we moved through our way to the open seas. It is alsopart of the UNESCO Network of Global Geoparks in Langkawi. We were also brought to the bat caves to see them hanging on top sleeping. The whole tour tool 2.5 hours and we had a great time, and it is recommended to all who visits Langkawi.

It is a good chance to explore the beautiful scene of geoforest park in Langkawi. If you want to go there you can take a boat ride. Look for a mangrove tour. It can take either 2 hour or 4 hour tour depending on the package. Worth the money for the boat ride. Got to see eagle feeding, Gua Kelawar, stop at a beach for swimming and river cruising. The eagle feeding was spectacular and beyond words. The driver of boat explained various mountains as well. Overall, we really enjoyed the view during this tour. Kilim Geoforest national park has everything mangroves, islands, beaches, fossils, white bellied sea eagles, Brahmini kites, monitor lizards, monkeys, bat caves, floating villages beautiful limestone rockfaces it was just fantastic, we took a two hour boat trip around the Geoforest park and saw lots of eagles feeding and the mangroves were stunning 😍

The cave is about 60 m long and was named as such beca use it supports hundreds of bats. It consists of two caves. The western cave has a floor area of about 270 m sq with a low roof (1-3m) trending northeast. The second cave is bigger, having a floor area of about 750m sq, with roof reaching 10m high and trending north-northwest. Getting There Flight from Kuala Lumpur then car to Kilim Geoforest Park. Sign up for a tour which comes with a guide and includes lunch and hotel transfer for convenience. Attractions Watch eagles feeding, fish farm visit and kayak around the mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park. From Kuah town it took us about 20 mins to get there, the we were ushered onto a speed boat to a fish farm for a short tour. We were then briefed on how to use the kayak, we could opt for a single or a double kayak. The kayaking tour starts from the open sea and then slowly leading into the inner channels of the mangroves. It’s the only chance for us to get so up closed inside the mangroves and it felt surreal! To navigate inside the mangroves requires patience and some skills as the pathways can be quite tight and it depends on the water level as well. Your guide should be able to spot some wildlife for you when you’re kayaking there. Duration Total about 5 hours from pick up to drop off. Total kayak time around 1.5-2 hours, depending on group size. Things to note Wear swimwear beneath long sleeves and long pants and use sun protection. Bring a cap. Kilim Geoforest Park (or Kilim Karst Geoforest Park as its full name) is one of the three geoforest parks associated with the Langkawi Geopark. The other two are the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park and The Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park. Langkawi Geopark comprises the whole of Langkawi Island, which is one of the districts of Kedah State, Malaysia. Langkawi started as a fishing village until its revelation as a UNESCO Geopark. A very worthehile tour for our trip this time.Our trip included a simple lunch and a few places such as a Bat cave; (you can see the bats inside the cave with a touch light), fish farm; (you can see how the fish shoot the food that hangs on the wood by the water and make the food fall to the water, very interesting.) Crocodile cave; (this is the long journey tour, you can see a very pretty view after the Crocodile cave entrance. The next point, you will see how monkeys swim and take food from you. We then continue to see Eagle feeding and then heading to a beach. Our trip ended after this beach and returned to the fish farm for lunch. Each stop point may let you stop for 30 minutes to 1 hour time for your to visit and swim. #naturalwonders#nationalpark

#summervacay Okay, Kilim Geoforest Park is seriously one of the coolest nature spots I’ve ever checked out. We hopped on a boat and zoomed through crazy limestone cliffs, winding rivers, and lush mangroves, it literally felt like we were in some kind of jungle adventure movie. We saw eagles swooping right above us (so majestic!), made a stop at a floating fish farm, and even explored a bat cave (yep, actual bats hanging out inside).
