It's fair to say that St. John's Co-Cathedral in the capital Valletta is the most famous place in Malta 🇲🇹 The entrance fee is quite high, but it's a must-see! The audio guide is also available in Japanese, and it will probably take an hour to walk around while listening to it. As shown in the first photo, the largest rectangular space is surrounded by several luxurious rooms and the tombs of people related to the Knights of Malta. The paintings are also noteworthy. There is an aisle on the left hand side towards the exit, and if you go along there you can see a painting of the famous Salome scene! We spent the day wandering the narrow streets, soaking in the history. The entrance fee for the cathedral was around €15, but it’s worth every cent for the intricate interiors alone. Plus, the harbor views are just breathtaking. 🌅 Next up was Cyprus, where we docked in Limassol. From there, we took a short trip to the ancient city of Kourion. The ruins, especially the amphitheater overlooking the sea, were absolutely stunning. Cyprus is a blend of ancient history and beautiful beaches, and the local food was a highlight—don’t miss out on trying some traditional meze! 🍽️ We spent the afternoon lounging at Lady’s Mile Beach, a perfect spot for relaxation. At first glance, the street with its huge slope is simply astonishing! The old Mint Street is definitely the most photographed characteristic old street in the ancient city of Valletta! Although it's called Mint Street, it actually means 'coinage'. This place was once the site of a coin minting factory during the time of the Knights, hence the name Mint Street. Walking on the old Mint Street, you can see at a glance that the long street forms a U-shaped slope along the terrain, making you want to rush down all the way! Getting There - getting there was extremely easy. take a simple 3 hour flight from London. We flew with Air Malta and there are buses that go to every part of the country. plus a Ferry boat that crosses between Sliema and Valletta Attractions - main places to see is the island of Gozo and Crystal Caves. It is called the United Nations Day, an exhibition to celebrate UN77 years anniversary and this colorful designed "Enlightened Universe" by Mr. Cristobal Gabarron entitled Colors of Hope, it was originally began in New York in the year 2015 and travel to different country every year from October to December to show the Unity of different countries. Parliament House and Courts of Justice in the capital of Malta are two important buildings, because they represent the legislative and judiciary branches of the nation. The former is the meeting place of the Parliament of Malta and this new building constructed between 2011 and 2015 is controversial because of the modern design and the high cost. Many have compared the cladding design to a cheese grater or a dovecote. I certainly do think it looks unique though. The Courts of Justice building does not look extraordinarily special as it is built in the neoclassical style in late 1960s. It is worth mentioning because the trial for the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia took place during my visit to Malta on the 14 October 2022. #fallingforfall #malta #valletta
