SAPA, known as the Switzerland of Vietnam, is a place with beautiful nature.
How to get there:
1. Use the sleeping bus: Move through Hanoi city center or Hanoi Noi Bai Airport pickup. It takes a long time to travel, so it is recommended to take it at night!
2. Move by train: Take the train to nearby Lao Cai Station and then take a separate taxi to Sapa city center. It passes the famous Hanoi train line. It takes a long time, so it is recommended to travel at night!
Attractions:
1. Trekking course: You can do trekking together through a company. I looked at Google Maps and planned the route by myself, but there were fewer people in the mountain than I thought, so I think I will use a tour next time.
2. Fansipan: It is said that you need to accumulate virtue for three generations to see the scenery. It is often foggy, so you need a good day to see it. It is recommended to reserve a panicula on the way up and walk down to see it!
3. Sapa Lake: A lake in Sapa city center. It is beautiful at night because it reflects the surrounding lights. There is a walkway around the lake, but it is dark.
Hotels & Accommodations:
1. Laksik Eco Lodge:
Pictures 1 and 2 are the views of Laksik Eco Lodge. They say the view is better when you come during the season when rice is planted. Compared to the famous ones, the bathroom and shower rooms are a bit shabby. Since it is an eco-hotel, it is characterized by the lack of a refrigerator. It is suitable for a one-day stay. Not particularly recommended. The rooms and pool views are great.
Recommended food & restaurants:
1. Skewer restaurant near the lake: There are many restaurants near the lake where you can choose skewers and grill them yourself at the table. Recommended for a simple dinner with beer.
2. Good Morning Sapa Restaurant: This is the only place with many reviews when you search in Sapa, where there aren't many good restaurants. The main menu is coconut curry. It's not particularly delicious, but it's okay for Sapa, where there aren't many good restaurants.
3. Chestnut bread: Sapa is famous for its chestnut specialty. There are many places that sell chestnut bread that tastes like chestnut Manju. I recommend trying one. However, it's not that special.
Shopping information:
There are a lot of peddlers along the trekking route. They follow you around and solicit customers, and they are mostly young children or middle-aged women. They tend to follow you persistently... I recommend that you don't listen to them and be firm.
There is nothing special to buy for souvenirs. The specialty products are local handicrafts made by the tribesmen, but I have seen the same products being sold for a cheaper price in Hanoi city several times.
