Silence has a sound in Ladakh
Ladakh is unlike any other place I’ve visited – vast mountains, endless skies, and a silence that speaks volumes. My journey began in Leh, a tranquil mountain town adorned with monasteries, prayer flags, and warm, welcoming smiles.
Pangong Tso left me utterly mesmerized. The lake changes its colors throughout the day – from deep blue to icy silver – and the quietness felt almost surreal. Watching the sunrise from a tent by the lake was an experience I’ll never forget.
Tso Moriri was even more remote and untouched. With fewer people and a deeper sense of serenity, it felt sacred, like a hidden sanctuary of nature.
Ladakh isn’t just a destination – it’s an emotion. If you ever have the chance to visit, do it. You’ll return transformed.

One-Day Leh Itinerary
✨ Morning:
Start your day at the Leh Palace (Royal Palace). This 17th-century palace offers stunning views over Leh and a glimpse into Ladakh's royal history. Walk from downtown uphill via maze of old streets, there are numerous routes to get there. Spend about an hour exploring the old corridors and panoramic viewpoints.
✨ Late Morning:
Walk downhill to the Old Castle ruins. The short hike up from Royal Palace (about 20 minutes) is worth it for the ancient Buddhist prayer flags, crumbling walls, and another fantastic view of Leh (the best viewpoint in Leh).
✨ Afternoon:
Head to downtown for lunch and spend some time exploring it during the daytime. Neha snacks is a good option for lunch serving Indian food. Their saffron lassy is a top notch!
✨ Sunset
Head to Shanti Stupa (about 20 mins by car/taxi or half of an hour climb upstairs). This white-domed shanti stupa is especially beautiful at sunset, with its bright colors against the mountain backdrop. Walk around, soak in the spiritual vibe, and enjoy the 360° views.
✨ Evening:
Head back to downtown. Spend some time strolling Leh Market (the best hours to visit the market are past sunset and till 8pm)—browse Tibetan handicrafts, and try local snacks. Pick one of numerous restaurants for dinner. Ladakh Himalayan kitchen serves delicious Indian and Tibetan food. Try khawa tea as well.
Tips:
- Wear good shoes—there's a lot of walking and hiking.
- Taxis are cheap for hopping between spots if you prefer to do it in a relaxed way.
Perfect mix of history, culture, and food!

Royal Palace lost in mountains
#cityplaybook #lehladakh #ladakh #india
Visiting Leh's Royal Palace is one of those experiences that's more about the journey than the destination. The huge building sits high above town, visible from almost everywhere in Leh. The best way to reach it? Ditch the taxi and walk up through the maze of charming old streets, zigzagging past prayer wheels, tiny shops, and whitewashed houses with those iconic Ladakhi windows.
At ₹400 entrance fee, it's not cheap by local standards, and honestly? The inside feels a bit empty compared to the grand exterior. But the real magic is standing on those massive walls looking down over all of Leh—the view alone makes it worth it. You really get a sense of how this place dominated the valley for centuries.
Go late afternoon when the town below starts lighting up. It's the perfect spot to grasp Leh's unique mix of history and mountain beauty. Just don't expect museum-quality displays inside—the palace itself is the main exhibit here.

Cozy little town lost in mountains
#cityplaybook #india #ladakh #lehladakh
Leh is such a charming little city—wandering through its old streets feels like stepping back in time. The whitewashed buildings with their colorful windows look amazing against the mountain backdrop. Even in April, it was seriously cold, especially at night. Most guesthouses don’t have heating, but the owners are really sweet about piling on extra blankets to keep you warm.
The food scene here is surprisingly great—from cozy Tibetan momo spots to little cafés serving amazing thukpa. You’ll eat well without spending much. The whole place has this laid-back, traveler-friendly vibe where you can just take your time exploring.
It’s the perfect base for trips around Ladakh, but the city itself is worth a couple days just to soak up the atmosphere. Cold but completely lovely. Just pack warm clothes and enjoy the slow pace!

Leh Palace (Leh Palace) Leh Ladakh 🇮🇳☺️
🇮🇳 Leh Palace
It used to be the residence of 20 kings of the Namgyal dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,000 years. It has now become a very valuable museum. The highlight is its location on a hilltop where you can see the entire Ladakhi Himalayan city.
It's a beautiful view. You can see the Himalayas. It's very beautiful.

Namgyal Tsemo: The Ancient Fortress on Tsemo Hill
#favouriteitinerary
Perched atop Tsemo Hill, the old fortress of Namgyal Tsemo offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of Leh and its rugged surroundings. Built in the early 16th century by King Tashi Namgyal, this historic structure consists of a ruined castle and the Namgyal Tsemo Monastery, home to a striking golden statue of Maitreya Buddha.
Though time has weathered the fortress walls, the site still exudes an air of ancient power, standing as a silent witness to Ladakh’s rich past. The short yet steep hike up to Tsemo Hill rewards visitors with breathtaking vistas of the Leh Palace below, the Indus River winding through the valley, and the snow-capped peaks in the distance.
For those seeking a moment of solitude and reflection, the peaceful atmosphere of Namgyal Tsemo, combined with its deep historical significance, makes it a must-visit site in Leh.

Ladakh, India
This is a story of a trip from the high mountain city of Leh to climb a mountain at nearly 6,300m.
In Leh, there is a restaurant that bakes the focaccia served at Saizeriya from early in the morning, and it is delicious when it is freshly baked.
We had chai and focaccia for breakfast,
and then, like a caravan, we tied our luggage to a donkey and went to the base camp,
and struggled to reach the top.
We enjoyed dessert in the town at the end.

Flowers of light (bodies)
Although renting a car with a driver to go to various places
is very popular for tourists
But with the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road
Many people choose to use a motorcycle as a vehicle
Which of course requires advanced driving skills
Because most of the roads are gravel roads cutting through the mountains
And you have to drive at an altitude of 3,500 m ++
On this trip, we had 1 day left in Leh Ladakh
So we tried renting a motorcycle to drive on a nearby route
Easy to drive on paved roads, stopping at various temples
Today's destination .... ... .

Back to Leh Ladakh 2024
📍Leh Palace
This is a palace located prominently in the center of Leh. It is 9 stories high and was built in 1630. Its architectural style is similar to the Potala Palace in Tibet, with walls leaning towards each other on all sides. The interior is quite complicated. Be careful not to get lost while walking. Do not go in the dark, follow the designated path and be careful of your head, as the beams are quite low.
The location is not far from the city and Leh market. The day we went was close to closing time, plus it was the first day of the trip, so we got tired quite easily, so we did not get to explore much inside. However, from the outside, it is another great viewpoint of Leh.

WANDERING WITH MEI IN LEH MARKET - INDIA 🌱
In my eyes, it is a colorful country, both in terms of people and natural landscapes
A moment in Leh market in the last days of winter.
Leh is beautiful, gentle and worth experiencing.
We didn't stay in Leh for too long, just a few days for a more than ten-day trip to India, but those were special moments more than ever
In fact, throughout the long journey, the smell of Indian curry made every member of our team crave other foods more than ever, so the two Korean barbecue meals in Leh made our stomachs strangely happy
Under the cold of late winter, sitting outside in the yard slurping hot soup, flipping the sizzling grilled meat over and over, people holding their phones to shine on it to make it sparkle, everyone was laughing and talking happily
We wandered every corner of Leh, trying all the snacks, ice cream, cakes, grilled lamb... This place has an extremely strange color that is hard to describe, but very special
Leh is lined with puppies from the beginning to the end of the market, looking at them leisurely with life, everyone passing by smiled and sometimes wished they could be leisurely moments like these
Come to Leh to experience it everyone, it's worth the trip ☺️#awesomepic

Pangong Lake
Pangong Lake is one of the highest salt water lakes in the Himalayas in the world, located at an altitude of 4,350m and between the borders of India and China. This is also the place where the famous Bollywood movie The Three Idiots was filmed

The highest mountain pass in the world - KhardungLa
If you have ever climbed Fansipan to be stunned by the height of 3,143m, then... stand once at the "Khardung La" pass for motorbikes, the highest in the world with an altitude of 5,602m 🥶. I was only limited to 10 minutes at the top of the pass because the air is thin at high altitudes and the low temperature will exhaust my body 😅, but no matter what anyone says, I still enthusiastically enjoyed seeing snow for the first time so I don't know what fatigue is haha 😂

Leh has been famous for many years. Why should you go??🧐🧐
1. No matter how you take pictures, they are beautiful.
2. The weather is not hot even if you go in summer (in the picture, the weather is cool, 20 degrees)
3. The cost of living is cheap. The more people you go, the cheaper it is.
Note: You should go before you get old because you may get attitude mountain sickness. When we went, we used smelling salts. We were very dizzy. We even took diamox 2-3 days in advance. 😂😂
Let me tell you what attitude mountain sickness is.
This symptom occurs when traveling to a height of > 2500 meters above sea level. You will experience headaches and dizziness. Other common symptoms are insomnia, fatigue, and rapid breathing. Symptoms last for 4-10 hours. Most commonly, it occurs on the first night of going up to a high place. And the body will gradually adjust itself within 1-2 days. You should walk slowly, rest a lot, drink water often, and take medicine to prevent altitude sickness such as Acetazolamide (diamox).
Get fit and travel together. It's really beautiful. 🚀🚀

Ladakh, Little Tibet in India
Ladakh, in northwestern India, is more Tibetan than Tibet.
It is a place with an altitude of over 3,000 meters and several peaks over 4,500 meters must be crossed by land, but it is a very exotic and unique place where Tibetan Buddhism and Islam coexist.

Local food in Leh
Food in Leh, Ladakh, India
There is a bazaar between the bus terminal and the center.
There are Indian and Tibetan dishes, but the Islamic dishes are also delicious around here.
A simple dish to eat is grilled lamb skewers.
You can eat fragrant grilled lamb skewers sandwiched between bread.
There is also a biryani restaurant nearby where you can enjoy lamb biryani.
The price is about 100 yen for lamb skewers and 300 yen for biryani.
Leh is at a high altitude, but you can enjoy a variety of meals.

Autumn in Ladakh 🌿🍁
Leh Autumn 🇮
Leh Ladakh, beautiful view, very beautiful, top-level beauty, dares to challenge every location 🌄
Some people may not believe that this is India, in the Himalayas near the border of China and Pakistan.
As soon as you get off the plane, you can feel the magnificence of nature, which is greater than anywhere else you've ever been, along with the cold wind. ❄
Leh is a city where no matter where you pan the camera, there is only the word "extremely beautiful", the nature is very beautiful and magnificent.

Leh Royal Palace, Ladakh India
Leh Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh. Modelled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, the palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 16th century. It is nine storeys high; the upper floors accommodated the royal family, while the lower floors held stables and store rooms.
You can get here by renting a car or trekking, if I'm trekking (even though it's really awkward) because it's close to the inn. The entry ticket is 300 Rupees, not much to see inside, only empty spaces and 2 spaces for Buddhist worship and mosques/prayer rooms, maybe the inhabitants of the kingdom used to be Muslims and Buddhists. There are 9 floors which are good for selfies with a very beautiful view while relaxing sitting around but I turned the chair into a tripod
