The whole visit felt personal, like we weren’t just learning about her we were feeling the echoes of her world. The spring water is crystal clear, with bubbling water, offering a spectacular view. In addition, there are many ancient buildings and cultural relics nearby, such as the Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall and Wan Bamboo Garden. Li Qingzhao (1084-1155), also known as Yi'an, was a representative poet of the Song Dynasty and was known as the "most talented woman in ancient times". She once lived in Zhangqiu, Jinan, by the Shuyu Spring. It is said that every time the morning sun shines on the earth, she would come to the Shuyu Spring and dress up in front of the clear spring water... The collection of essays she wrote, "Shuyu Collection", has won the admiration of many literati. I visited Baotu Spring and accidentally walked into Li Qingzhao's former residence! Li Qingzhao's former residence is a typical Song Dynasty courtyard. The courtyard is simple and elegant, surrounded by green bamboo in the courtyard, and weeping willows. On both sides are Li Qingzhao's poetry and calligraphy galleries, about 50 meters long, with 50 inscriptions. The northwest corridor is carved with Li Qingzhao's poems and paintings, which has a strong cultural atmosphere and artistic value.
