All Trip Moments about Hunza
The Magnificent Passu Cones
Name: Passu Cones
Location: Passu Village, Karakoram Highway
Passu is a village located in the Hunza region of Pakistan. It is a very popular tourist destination, known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
The Passu Cones is on the Karakoram Highway, which is a major trade route connecting Pakistan with China. The area is surrounded by towering mountains.
Other famous attractions around the Passu area include the Passu Glacier, which is one of the largest glaciers in the Karakoram range, and the Borith Lake.
You do not have to spend much time there but the view from the car of Passu cones is amazing. There is also a walnut cake/ walnut cake shop midway so do check that out.
If you are going to have a ride in Karakoram Highway, then you definitely wouldn’t miss out Passu Cones.
This Isn’t the Alps or Italy… It’s Hunza, Pakistan. You Have to See It to Believe It
#mediterraneanvibes A glacier! Is this a place from another planet?
I just made a hike to Ultar #glacier
For adventure seekers, the hike to Ultar Glacier offers jaw-dropping scenery. Even if you don’t make it all the way, the views along the path are worth every step.
#hunza is not what people expect when they think of Pakistan. The people are warm and welcoming, the streets are safe, and the scenery rivals some of Europe’s most famous destinations.
It’s not Switzerland. It’s not Italy. It’s Hunza and it will stay in your heart long after you leave.
Planning ahead with Trip.com let me focus on exploring instead of worrying about logistics. Trust me: this corner of the Karakoram is worth the effort to get there.
Light blue lake [Attabad Lake]
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
Lake Attabad is a light blue lake that appears along the Karakoram Highway.
It's not a place you'd likely visit unless on a tour, but a few locals were visiting.
It's very quiet in the off-season, but apparently there are more tourists during the peak season.
A peaceful village in the Hunza region [Gulmit]
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
From Susto, you can get to Gurmit on the way to Karimabad.
It's a peaceful village.
It's famous for weaving.
The people are very warm.
There's nothing to do, but the locals play with me and I ended up staying for a while.
I think it's a great place to relax.
However, there aren't many places to eat.
Walking Along the Stunning Karakoram Highway in Hunza
The Karakoram Highway, commonly known as KKH, stretches from China to Pakistan. Interestingly, the well-maintained roads in Pakistan were actually constructed by China.
The Hunza region is surrounded by majestic mountains ranging from 6,000 to 7,000 meters in height. The scenery was so breathtaking that I decided to walk from Sost to Karimabad over the course of several days.
Perhaps due to the local culture, people driving cars or riding motorcycles often offered me a lift as I walked along the road.
Whether you choose to walk or accept a ride, this route offers an incredible opportunity to enjoy stunning views.
However, be aware that autumn is the off-season, and some accommodations may not be open during this time.
Attabad Lake - a view that steals your breath
Woke up at dawn to hike up the mountain above Attabad Lake — and it was worth every step. The view from the top, with that surreal emerald-blue water below, was absolutely breathtaking. One of the most stunning places I’ve ever been in Pakistan. 🌄🇵🇰💙 #AttabadLake #PakistanDiaries #NatureWonder
Beiba is really beautiful😍
A place I have been longing for for 8 years, and finally embarked on this journey.
