Just do your best according to your strength. Although you are out of breath, don't rest too much. You can reach the top of the 184m Elephant Mountain in half an hour. Many foreigners are having a picnic there and looking at the Taipei 101 building, so chill💕 ⛰️But of course I didn't let myself go so easily. Elephant Mountain is connected to the "Four Beasts Mountain" at the end of Songde Road that I used to climb. The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Republic of China. It is a memorial to the ROC's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and was completed in 1972. The total building area covers 29,464 square metres in an open space of 115,000 square metres. Nice building for photo shooting and the front garden can have spectacular view of Taipei 101. A Solo 2-Night, 3-Day Adventure in Taipei Day 1: Arriving in Taipei in the evening, I started by buying souvenirs, visiting a night market for a quick bite, and enjoying a relaxing massage. Day 2 and Day 3: I made full use of the Taipei Funpass to explore the city! The unlimited metro access allowed me to travel freely, such as visiting Huashan 1914 Creative Park and Longshan Temple in the morning, then returning to the hotel without hesitation. First, I went to Shifen to release a lantern using the Funpass benefit. However, the benefit only includes a single-color lantern (red by default). If you want a multi-colored lantern, you’ll need to negotiate and pay extra. Afterward, I headed to Jiufen and relaxed at the famous tea house, Amei Teahouse, which inspired scenes from "Spirited Away." Watching the sunset was breathtaking. The tea set costs 350 NTD and is cash-only. In the evening, I took the shuttle bus back to Ximending, picked up the Funpass souvenir cup, and ended the day with a meal at Ah Zong Mian Xian. Day 3: I visited the Taipei Zoo briefly to see the pandas 🐼, then took the Maokong Gondola 🚡 for a tea-tasting experience. Afterward, I went to Taipei 101, got a queue ticket for Din Tai Fung, and spent the waiting time exploring the observation deck and enjoying Bai Shui Dou Hua (a tofu dessert). They don't provide basic towels. Since they don't provide towels, you have to bring your own or pay an additional fee to use them. Fortunately, they had a sports towel, so we used it well. It seems like there are quite a few people staying long-term. There is a small kitchen in the basement, and there is a microwave, so you can simply cut up some fruit or make cup ramen because there is hot water in the kitchen. There are no heating devices. I stayed in a twin room, but there is no bathroom in the room, so you have to use the public bathroom. The public bathroom is clean, and I met one person who used it early in the morning. Since it is a bunk bed, if two people sleep there, the person using the second bunk may feel uncomfortable.

The taro puree on top is rich and perfectly sweet, and of course, all the toppings are delightful. It's a fantastic dessert that lets you enjoy a variety of textures all at once! Despite being reasonably priced, the portion size is quite generous. Initially, I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I ended up devouring it in no time. The staff is also very kind. Introducing "Shuang Yue Food Store," a must-visit popular restaurant in Taipei known for its exquisite mixed noodles! ⭐️Review I arrived before the opening hours, but there was already a queue. I took a number ticket and sat at an outdoor seat. The staff were very kind, providing a Japanese menu and even serving complimentary burdock tea. Inside the restaurant, I was seated at a single-person spot by the wall. I ordered clam and chicken soup, chili black vinegar noodles, oil rice, and baby bok choy. The oil rice and bok choy arrived first, and their portions were just right. However, when the noodles came, I realized I had ordered way too much—clearly a mistake on my part! 😂 Personally, the oil rice was average; I feel there are better options elsewhere. The bok choy was light and not overly seasoned, making it a perfect palate cleanser. The noodles were overwhelmingly delicious! Cooked to the perfect firmness, they were coated in a mildly spicy sesame sauce. I didn’t find them spicy at all, but the Japanese person next to me said they were, so spice tolerance might vary. The soup arrived last and was incredibly generous in portion! Packed with chicken and clams, it was overflowing with ingredients. The broth itself had a gentle flavor that truly showcased the natural essence of the ingredients—a nourishing dish indeed. For me, the noodles were the highlight! Simply take the MRT to the station🚇, and a shuttle will pick you up—so thoughtful. As soon as you step into the hotel lobby, you’ll be greeted by a stunning four-story library📚. All the books here are available for browsing! My sister absolutely loves reading here. The library is visually expansive and grand, exuding an artistic vibe✨ Maple Room (One Night Stay with Two Meals + Afternoon Tea) Sometimes, you can hear the sounds of nature, like chirping birds🐤, from the room. The room itself is spacious and free of any sense of confinement. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area🚿, and there’s even a private hot spring tub in the room! The toiletries are from the luxurious BVLGARI series. Overall, the stay was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The room also includes a mini bar with handmade welcome snacks, fresh fruits, Nespresso coffee capsules, tea bags, beverages, and juices, allowing guests to enjoy refreshments during their downtime. Afternoon Tea for Two (covered in a previous post) The hotel boasts an outdoor open-air onsen, an outdoor swimming pool, and a spa pool. Personally, I loved the spa pool💆🏻♀️, with its comfortable 33°C water temperature and features like whirlpools, water jets, and bubble massage beds. The public open-air onsen gives off a vibe that instantly transports you to Japan🇯🇵. The hot spring water is Beitou’s unique white sulfur spring, which feels incredibly soothing. After soaking, all the day’s fatigue melts away—it’s so rejuvenating! The hotel also has a gym, aromatherapy spa, and private hot spring rooms. Even if you’re not staying overnight, I highly recommend trying out the private hot spring rooms—they’re perfect for couples, friends, or family to enjoy together. Dining Experience Dinner that evening was at the Western-style restaurant, where they offered a complimentary welcome drink🥂. We opted for red and white wine. Paired with the meal, the slightly tipsy feeling was delightful. The dinner consisted of eight courses, including bread, appetizers, soup, seafood risotto, sorbet, the main course, dessert, and drinks. It was a very satisfying and filling meal. I highly recommend the main course, "Sous Vide Short Ribs🥩 with Red Onion and Port Wine Sauce." Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the meat was tender and juicy, with a slight pink hue. Even the side dishes were fresh and sweet—I absolutely loved it! The next morning’s breakfast was a semi-buffet🍴, also served at the Western-style restaurant. Surprisingly, they offered unlimited sparkling wine! The ladies’ favorite, sparkling rosé, was incredibly delicious and instantly refreshing. The main breakfast options included savory soy milk, Southeast Asian laksa noodles, roasted meat buns, pasta, seafood congee, and Sichuan pepper chicken soup, among others. The variety of international dishes was impressive and abundant! The Southeast Asian Curry Coconut Chicken Laksa🍜 was authentic, with rich and flavorful coconut milk. The seafood congee featured a large piece of salmon, making it a refreshing and satisfying start to the day. This trip made me want to stay in the hotel and never leave. Recommended: Tango Inn Taipei KaiFong Recently, I went on a trip to Taipei with my family. As usual, I prefer staying near Taipei Main Station for its convenient location. This time, I chose a newly opened hotel from last December, Tango Inn Taipei KaiFong. Although this hotel is new, the room rates are very affordable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with enough space to open two large suitcases on the floor simultaneously. On both sides of the bed, there are wireless charging stations, and even if you forget to bring an adapter, there are USB ports available for charging. 😉 The room features a double bed, a desk with a safe underneath, a sofa between the desk and the bed, and a bathroom with a separate wet and dry area and a bidet toilet. Towels are also provided by the hotel. 👍🏿 The TV in the room offers a variety of channels, including international, local, and Hong Kong programs. 😎 Overall, this new hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The lighting in the rooms and hallways is bright, and there’s a map of the surrounding area in the room. On the wall, there’s an artistic installation that actually serves as a coat hook. 🤭 The lobby features a common area for guests to relax, with recommendations for unique attractions across Taiwan displayed on the walls. 😍 During this trip, one of my family members had an issue with their suitcase. We sought help from the hotel staff and borrowed tools, and they were very enthusiastic about assisting guests with their problems. 😘 The hotel offers 24-hour front desk service, with check-in starting at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM.
