"Tori no Sanwa" is located on the basement floor of Nagoya Mitsukoshi. It's a favorite restaurant with a wide variety of skewers and is popular for its Nagoya specialty Nagoya Cochin yakitori. Aside from yakitori, they also have fried chicken and bento boxes, so if you're looking for affordable food while traveling to Nagoya, I recommend the department store basement gourmet.

My favorite bakery, "Johan," has been in Nagoya Mitsukoshi for a long time. It's been my favorite bakery since I was a child, and it's a classic bakery where you never get bored of buying lots of your favorite bread every time you go. Everything you try is delicious, and it's a bakery that appeals to everyone. It's located in the far corner of the basement floor.

I went to THE CITY BAKERY, a bakery located on the basement floor of Nagoya Mitsukoshi. This is the second stylish bakery in Nagoya after Aeon Mall Noritake. It's a bakery from New York, so the atmosphere is convincing. All the breads on display looked delicious, so it was hard to choose.

They have a wide selection of fruit tart cakes, They are delicious and highly recommended. It is located on the first basement floor, just before the underground passage leading to Lachic.

You can get to Nagoya Mitsukoshi without getting wet in the rain by going through the underground mall from Sakae Station on the Higashiyama Line of Nagoya Subway. The prepared foods in the basement food section of the department store are always tempting. If you are traveling and staying in Sakae and don't have breakfast, it's a good idea to buy some food in the basement food section. My personal favorite bento is the Japanese dish "Okamatsu." I also recommend it as a Japanese dish for foreign tourists! #WesternJapan

Nagoya Mitsukoshi is located right next to Sakae Station on the Nagoya subway, so you can get there without getting wet by getting off the subway and going through the underground mall. On the first basement floor, there is a side dish and dessert corner, which is not large but has a carefully selected range of shops. My favorite among them is the fruit specialty shop hanafru. I especially recommend their cakes topped with lavish amounts of fruit. #WesternJapan

The fruit tarts are delicious and there are cute cakes lined up using various seasonal fruits 💓 Today we had tiramisu, which was just the right amount of sweet, not too sweet, and it went great with coffee and cafe au lait 🥹✨ Each cake was very large, so even sharing it between two people was enough to leave us feeling satisfied 🍰

If you go to Sakae Mitsukoshi, you'll find limited-time puddings right at the entrance!! I tried out the most popular sencha, the second most popular hojicha, and the cute-looking strawberry pudding💓 The strawberry pudding is called "Unrequited Love" and uses whole Benihoppe strawberries from Gifu Prefecture, so it's not only delicious to look at, but also to taste! Also makes a great gift🍓

A few years ago, I had oysters at Mitsukoshi, and they were pretty good. This time, I went to Sakae and came to the 8th floor to eat again. I had to wait in line for a while at around 2 pm on a weekend. I ordered a JPY 6,800 set meal, which included two salads with bread, two glasses of orange juice, two oysters (but the oysters didn't seem very plump), one pasta, and one rice. The taste was still good. There is also a half-price oyster set meal.
