Walk into the sea, walk into the miracle in the gap of time
I never thought that I could actually walk out of the sea.
This is not a metaphor, but a witness and a step - at Kuibi Mountain in Huxi Township, Penghu,
every day when the tide goes out, the sea actually "opens a road",
allowing you to walk from the main island of Taiwan to the small island of Chiyu on the opposite side, just like a modern version of Moses parting the sea.
This magical scene does not require special effects or tickets,
only good weather and tides, you can become a witness of this "sea road".
📍 What is the Moses parting the sea in Penghu?
Penghu's "Moses parting the sea" is actually the "Kuibi Mountain-Chiyu intertidal zone trail",
which is a natural passage formed by the accumulation of basalt and gravel,
which is usually completely covered by sea water, and only in the short 1-2 hours of low tide every day will it be fully exposed.
At this time, you can walk directly from Kuibi Mountain to the small island of Chiyu, which is about 300 meters long and takes about 20-30 minutes to go back and forth.
The moment you set foot on this road, you will really feel like: "Wow... this world is so magical." The sea water is surging on both sides of you, there is a rough gravel road under your feet, and Chiyu Island, which is made of volcanic basalt, is in the distance. The whole picture is spectacular and poetic, and every step is like walking in a story written by nature for you. 📷 How to take photos? When is the most beautiful time? 📸 The most beautiful time: 30 minutes before low tide ~ within 1 hour after low tide 📸 Suggested direction of taking photos: Take photos from Kuibi Mountain to Chiyu Island, you can capture the classic picture of "people walking in the middle of the sea" 📸 Must-take pictures: Standing in the middle of the trail, there are sea water on both sides 📸 Aerial view (if you have a drone, the effect will be more amazing) 📸 At sunset, golden light falls on the sea, and the trail is sparkling 📸 It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes or river trekking shoes. There are many stones on the trail and there is a little moss to avoid slipping. 📸 Remember to wipe the lens of your mobile phone camera dry, a photo of "walking in the middle of the sea" will make your social media explode with praise!
⛔ Be sure to read the precautions!
The Sea Dividing Route is only open for a short time every day (depending on the tide time), be sure to check the tide table before going
Please do not stay too long, the tide rises very quickly, and you may be trapped if you walk too slowly
Although it is a trail, it is a natural intertidal terrain, please wear non-slip shoes and avoid slippers
Never climb Chiyu or destroy the basalt structure to maintain the natural landscape
📌 Tidal query suggestions: Search "Penghu Kuibi Mountain Tide Time" or use the Central Meteorological Bureau Tide Forecast Page
🌅 Coming here, not only to see the sea, but to walk into the embrace of the sea in person
For me, this "Moses Dividing the Sea" is not just to take beautiful photos and check in,
but to step into the miracle of nature's landscaping in person,
Walking between the waves and rocks, my heart unexpectedly calmed down.
Penghu has many beautiful scenery, but if you can only choose one truly memorable scene,
I think it is this sea road that only appears once a day.
