I traveled to Mijo, the southernmost village of Namhae-gun. There are many restaurants in Mijo that cook unique and delicious food, so when I go to Mijo, I have a wide range of choices for what to eat, so it's a very happy dilemma. During my trip to Namhae, I stayed at The Skyview Pension, which perfectly captured the trendy Instagram vibe of today. The texture of the bedding was incredibly comfortable. The room was equipped with a small kitchenette where you could prepare meals, and there was a cozy private terrace. During our trip to Namhae, we stayed at Gowoonmiso Pension, which offers a variety of experiences for families with children. The room we stayed in was the Ocean View Room on the first floor of the Sky building. It boasted a spacious layout perfect for families and featured a private barbecue terrace with stunning views of the Namhae sea. The room was clean and spacious, equipped with practical kitchenware and electronic appliances. We also enjoyed a fun time at the shared outdoor swimming pool. One of the highlights was the organic vegetable garden experience, where we harvested fresh lettuce for our family meal. It was a truly delightful and memorable activity. Eating barbecue on the terrace while gazing at the Namhae sea made us feel incredibly happy.

During the May holiday, I visited Iraksa, the shrine dedicated to Admiral Yi Sun-sin, with my child while visiting my hometown in Namhae. Having grown up in Namhae County and attended elementary, middle, and high school there, I have fond memories of drawing as a child and often representing my school in art competitions. Iraksa's lawn was one of the places where I used to draw, making it a nostalgic spot for me. Since I grew up surrounded by cultural relics related to Yi Sun-sin, reading books and watching movies about him, I feel a deeper connection and affection when visiting such sites. Iraksa Admiral Yi Sun-sin, with only 12 ships, defended our nation's waters at Noryang through his brilliant crane-wing formation strategy. Casalecce pasta was a very attractive pasta with a chewy texture. At first, I just ate it because it had a long, round shape and a unique texture, but upon closer inspection, it was an S-shaped pasta. I think this type of pasta is called casarecce. The granita al café con panna I ordered, granita al limene, a lemon slush, and a plate of tiramisu came out. Since it was an espresso menu, it came in a glass that was a little smaller than a paper cup. The amount of tiramisu was the usual size, so it seemed like the best value for money menu.

Upon entering, we found that the first floor operates as a restaurant, while the second floor serves as a café. We ordered the Namhae Octopus and Abalone Pot Rice Set (18,000 KRW), Namhae Garlic Korean Beef Bulgogi Pot Rice Set (18,000 KRW), and Homemade Salmon Soy Sauce Bowl Set (17,000 KRW). While waiting for the food, we decided to explore the café on the second floor. The tortilla chips topped with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and drizzled with balsamic sauce were simple yet incredibly delicious. The Homemade Salmon Soy Sauce Bowl was served next. It featured homemade salmon soy sauce, avocado, and various vegetables. We were instructed to mix it with the accompanying egg yolk and wasabi mayo sauce for the best flavor. Finally, the Namhae Octopus and Abalone Pot Rice arrived. It was a fragrant abalone liver rice topped with octopus, shrimp, abalone, scrambled eggs, seaweed, and other seafood.

The interior of the cafe isn't particularly spacious, and the chairs are somewhat firm, so unless the weather is extremely hot or cold, it might be nice to stay outside. That said, the interior design, which preserves the charm of a traditional hanok, is truly elegant. The drinks and castella we ordered have arrived. Three slices of castella for 5,000 KRW seems like a pretty reasonable price. The iced Americano was rich and enjoyable, but the yuja castella pairs better with yuja beverages. Today, I chose yuja ade, but next time I visit, I’d like to try the yuja juice. Cafe Yuja’s signature menu is the yuja castella. The yuja castella is priced at 5,000 KRW per plate and 14,000 KRW per box (12,000 KRW with a local resident discount). The castella is kneaded and baked directly at the cafe, which might explain why it tastes so good. Compared to other cafes, the variety of drinks isn’t extensive, but the signature items like yuja tea, yuja juice, and yuja ade are so appealing that it doesn’t seem to matter.
