I went to "Sakura" because I wanted to eat Yoshino kuzu kuzukiri. It's a traditional Japanese cafe about a 10-minute walk from Nara Station. I took off my shoes and entered the tatami room. When I sat down, there was a courtyard in front of me, a relaxing space. I immediately ordered the kuzukiri I was looking for. Hon-kuzu, which is extracted from the kudzu root of Yoshino kudzu, is highly rare, and this restaurant uses 100% of it. In order to serve freshly made kuzukiri, they make it by hand after ordering. The kuzukiri, which was brought to me with the cool sound of ice clinking, was a beautiful transparent color. I first tried one as it was, and it was smooth and smooth. It was also chewy and elastic. If you add brown sugar syrup to it, it has a refined sweetness and is even more delicious♡ As I slowly ate it while taking photos, the kudzu turned white and the texture changed. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Nara after visiting the obvious temples and shrines. Take some time to wander the narrow streets and go in a few of the quaint shops and cafés to have sweet delicacies and tea.. Also a nice covered shopping area that is full of interesting shops but not crowded like the larger shopping areas in Osaka and Tokyo. Easily accessible from the yellow loop bus that takes you to all of the main temple sites. Naramachi is a great place to wander and get lost for a while. Japan can be a series of one stop after another and sometimes it is nice to just wander, get a little lost and find some hidden sites. Naramachi is perfect for this. #givethanks #givethanks

Naramachi is an old commercial town with a long history in Nara. There are many townhouses in Naramachi, which are rich in Edo period characteristics. Most of them have been transformed into museums, fashionable craft shops, unique coffee shops☕️ and Japanese desserts🍧 shops. In Naramachi, you can also find the world cultural heritage Gango-ji Temple, which is one of the seven major temples in Nara. It retains the architectural features of the Nara period (8th century). The roof of the main hall, Gokuraku-do, is paved with tiles and has a history of more than 1,300 years. Naramachi is not very large, you can wander around without following a map, and there will be many surprises. It is located in the center of Naramachi, and was newly built and moved from Hokkoji Temple (Asukadera Temple), Japan's first full-scale temple, when the capital was moved to Heijo-kyo. The entrance to Gangoji Temple is along Naramachi Street. During the Nara period, it was a large temple on par with Todaiji Temple, and most of Naramachi was once the grounds of Gangoji Temple. National Treasure: Gokurakudo (Gokurakubo Main Hall and Mandala Hall) Holy place where Pure Land Buddhism originated in Nara National Treasure: Zen Room Important Cultural Property: East Gate Amazingly, tiles from the Asuka period 1,400 years ago remain on part of the roof of the main hall and Zen room. Other treasures owned by Gangoji Temple are on display at the Horinkan, where you can view the National Treasure "Five-story Small Pagoda" and precious Buddha statues designated as Important Cultural Properties from up close. The saleslady at the drugstore was super friendly. From time to time, I saw Shiba Inus wearing kimonos and walking on a leash on the road. In the evening, I watched the sunset at Rong Bridge. The riverside was full of locals and their pets. The Japanese atmosphere was right at its peak! I recommend trying "Ichiran Ramen". There is a "dog waiting area" at the door, which is so considerate~ Day 2: History meets cute pets I checked in at Osaka Castle Park in the morning.
