Läderach Chocolatier Suisse is a brand that originated from Switzerland and is most known for their chocolate truffles and “chocolate barks” or slabs. If you are in Singapore and looking to buy some delicious premium souvenirs to bring home, you can find an authentic Läderach outlet right in the heart of town at Ngee Ann City! Some of their best-selling truffles are already pre-packed in beautiful gift packages but what I do recommend is checking out the fresh chocolate barks to mix-and-match according to your own preferences. The chocolates here are more pricey but the quality is ensured since they oversee the entire process of cocoa bean to end products. Calling all cookie lovers! There is a quaint little cookie stall located at Ngee Ann City shopping centre that sells yummy handmade cookies. They were running a Halloween promotion where you can opt to have your cookie order placed in super cute Halloween-themed containers and bags! This is perfect if you are planning for party favours and trick-or-treat goodies. There are always about 7 to 8 different flavours on display at the shop. My favourite that I highly recommend is the Belgian chocolate chip one, highly addictive. These cookies are on the buttery softer side that melt in your mouth, so it’s probably not for those who prefer more crunch to their cookies. The owners are super nice too and you can ask them for samples if you can’t decide which flavour is best for you! #summervacay We popped by the Takashimaya Food Fiesta over the weekend, not really knowing what to expect this year, but it turned out to be quite a fun (and very full) afternoon. It’s held at the basement atrium of Ngee Ann City — the usual spot right next to Cold Storage — and will be around until 7 July. Some of the smaller stalls near the fountain are sticking around a little longer, till 9 July. There’s quite a mix of stalls this time — from cute desserts to hot savoury snacks and a few stalls selling frozen or ready-to-cook items too. We didn’t manage to try everything, but here’s what we got. First thing that caught our eye were the Sanrio macarons from Sugar Smith. Honestly, we mainly got them for how cute they looked — they had Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody and all that. Almost too pretty to eat, but we still did. Taste-wise, sweet and quite standard for a macaron, but the packaging made it a good little gift. We also tried the Jeju Hallabong yogurt ice cream from the Korean stall. Refreshing and not too sweet, with a tangy citrus flavour. There was also grilled wagyu beef from Niku Master. We shared a small portion because it was on the pricier side, but the beef was really tender and rich — definitely one of the better bites we had. One thing we’d go back for is the clairssants from Keong Saik Bakery. We got a mix of flavours including Lemon Pistachio and Otak Chicken Floss. Super flaky and not too heavy — pretty easy to finish even after a few other snacks. Tried the Thai banana fritters too — crispy, a bit nutty from the sesame, and reminded us of street food in Thailand. And we couldn’t resist getting Dona Manis’ banana pie again. It’s one of those things we always look out for at these fairs. There were also lots of local snacks, traditional kueh, and small-batch bakes. Some stalls looked interesting but had long queues, so we skipped those for now. We might go back on a weekday if we’re nearby. If you’re planning to drop by, it’s best to go earlier in the day — some popular items were already sold out by the time we left. There’s no seating, but lots of people were just standing around the fountain area to eat. Overall, it’s a nice way to spend an hour or two if you’re already in town. Not everything is mind-blowing, but it’s fun to graze, snack, and try a bit of everything with friends. Just pace yourself — it’s very easy to over-order.

#favouriteitinerary Orchard Road is a very popular destination for tourists and I went around with my parents as expected while we visited! We stayed at Orchard Hotel nearby so we only walked instead of taking any transportation. The H&M building was really exciting for me as Myanmar doesn’t have H&M or most of the brands we have here in Singapore such as Zara, Pull & Bear, etc. We walked throughout the whole road. My younger brother especially enjoyed Takashimaya’s kid section. He had a blast at the lego and toys section!! My mom loved to look at the brands at Ngee Ann City. We started our day since the sun was out until it became late evening. Definitely a fun family activity to enjoy!

If you are visiting Singapore and want to check out a market without perspiring in the heat, you can head down to Takashimaya’s basement level, where you will find the whole floor is an indoor food market! Many small stalls selling a wide variety of food, snacks and drinks. My favourite stalls are the mini-cookie one and the Korean kimchi stall. It can get quite crowded so try to avoid the lunch and dinner peak hours. Enjoy shopping and eating at this market in the comfortable air-conditioned environment! #familytrips2024 Luckin coffee has been expanding aggressively in Singapore and I found one just outside of Ngee Ann City. The interesting part of this brand is that ordering can only be done through their mobile app. I would say the coffee is Very well priced coffee with very frequent discount vouchers in the app. This particular outlet however has no seating as it is just a kiosk and it is outdoors.

#cherryblossom2024 Go to the space at Ngee Ann City which is right at Takashimaya and you will get a shock with a very tall Christmas tree. Last year this event was sponsored by Chanel, a superbrand which scream luxury. The tree is white in colour and the theme is Chanel Wonderland. It is also their pop up store selling their popular Chanel fragrance. You can get samples of this fragrance and find out more at this pop up event. There are staff around here and you can approach them to join in the lucky draw with your purchase. Be sure to take more samples.

The place is always crowded on the weekdays evening and on the weekends. There is one section that is very special. there are many branded shops there. You can get them while visiting the mall at the Ngee Ann City. The place is very luxurious to shop around. We really enjoyed shopping around here. You can also go to the food centre at the Takashimaya area .

#cherryblossom2024 The street shopping is located right outside the Ngee Ann shopping mall at the orchard district .Here, you can shop for clothing as well as accessories there. It was a new concept here at the mall, as they don't have it for a long period of time usually. The place is very trendy and you will definitely have a great shopping time here. To reach here you can take a train at the orchard station and then walk for ten minutes via the orchard walkway to reach here. You can come here in the evening.

After getting up at 10 o'clock, we walked to Ya Kunk to eat early and tried local food. We took the subway east line EW2 and sat down at Bugis. Four people studied the map of the station for a long while, and finally found that the hotel Allson Hotel stayed tonight is not far from the station. Sure enough, this four-star hotel has an excellent location near the Bugis station and opposite the National Library of Singapore. And through the online Planet holiday reservation, the price is only 87 US dollars a night, in the same four-star hotel in Marina Bay, this price is falling from the sky. Check in and get the room key. We put the luggage down and lightly set out to visit Singapore. Taxis took us to Singapore's most visited place, Orchard Road. This is equivalent to Shanghai's Nanjing Road or Guangzhou's Beijing Road, which is a shopper's paradise. Ngee Ann City is the largest shopping mall on Orchard Road. It is located in the heart of Orchard Road, and Takashimaya S.C is in the city of Ngee Ann. We took a turn around the mall and made international brands. I bought a beach shirt (S79) at Polo. This food street has few options, mainly local dishes such as Malay. I lined up with other people in a very popular shop. The name of the shop is THYE HONG. So many people line up just to buy it. The food is a kind of welfare.
