A Short stop to Oberammergau
On our way to visit some famous castles in Germany, my husband and I enjoyed our short visit to the beautiful and quaint town of Oberammergau.
This place, which is surrounded by the mountains of Bavarian Alps that sets a charming foliage, is said to be best known for its wood carvings as well as its elaborately painted buildings. But more than that, Oberammergau is famous for its centuries old tradition of staging Passion plays - its 5 hr production stages the life, crucifixion and death of Jesus - every 10 years.
We hope to be back and catch on of these performances someday 😊🍂🍁.

We heard driving for about an hour out of Munich to get to this place
It is a very famous tourist attraction for locals on weekends, but it seems not so famous among foreigners😳
There are many different recreational facilities there, and it is even more of a ski resort in winter when it is on the mountain side⛷️
We took the cable car and got up to the top then said this thing like a tall truck washed back down the mountain
There will be a handrail to control the speed when you are not on the car. If you like excitement, you can go very fast. Of course, there must be no one in front of you to stop you, because it is the same track😂
But there are advantages to going down slowly, in that you can enjoy the view down the mountain
If you have children, you might as well come and play ❤️

[Germany] Oberammergau
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
Oberammergau is a small town with a population of about 5,000 people located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in Bavaria, southeastern Germany.
It is a beautiful village with rows of beautiful houses painted with frescoes, making the whole village seem like a museum.
There are many shops selling the famous wooden carved dolls, and you can enjoy shopping for Christmas ornaments and strolling around the village.
It is also famous for the "Passion Play" that is performed once every ten years by all the villagers, and costumes are on display in the theater.
It began in 1634 as a way of giving thanks to God for being spared from the plague epidemic of 1632.
The play is performed by amateurs, and only town residents are eligible to perform, but the splendor and grandeur of the play is extraordinary, and the festival, which is held only once every ten years, attracts tourists from all over Europe and the world.
I went there as part of a day trip bus tour to Neuschwanstein Castle, and it was really nice to see the idyllic scenery of the pastureland surrounded by the Alps and the beautiful German villages. It's a bit difficult to get to, but if you have the chance, please go. [Germany] Oberammergau, where the once-every-10-year passion play and murals are adorable
In the Bavarian region of southern Germany,
Oberammergau is a small village surrounded by the Alps.
It is a cute village with exterior walls decorated with frescoes.
The murals, or wall art in modern terms, depict fairy tales familiar in Japan such as "Hansel and Gretel" and "Little Red Riding Hood," and are very enjoyable even if you don't understand the language.
The nearest train station and bus terminal are about a 10-minute walk away, so it is easy to access.
By the way, speaking of Oberammergau,
it is famous for the "Passion play," a play on the Passion of Christ that is performed by all the villagers once every 10 years.
It was postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be held in 2022 for the first time in 12 years.
It seems that many visitors from all over the world flocked to the small village.

A Niche and Low-key Mural Town | Oberammergau, Germany.
| Oberammergau, Germany. 📸 There is a famous mural town at the foot of the Alps. It is niche and low-key, with few people and a quiet atmosphere, but it is also eye-catching.
🚘 It is only a 50-minute drive from the famous Neuschwanstein Castle and less than 2 hours from Munich.
🌈 Many houses have murals on their walls, telling all kinds of stories, romantic, interesting, and religious.
These murals are called "frescoes" and are created by local residents, mainly decorating ordinary houses.
🍁 In autumn, the town looks more tranquil with falling yellow leaves. I picked up many fruits on the ground that looked like chestnuts but were not. They were everywhere, and the freshly cracked ones were very fresh.
❤️ Here, you will have the urge to blend yourself into the painting.

Oberammergau Germany
Oberammergau is a small village on the border with Austria. It is located in the Ammergau Alps. It is a village located in the middle of a beautiful natural valley. It also has an interesting history. The famous products here are wood carvings and cuckoo clocks, which are souvenirs that are worth buying. In addition, in the houses, we will see frescoes, which are paintings that were painted while the plaster was still dry, making the images beautiful and durable to this day. Looking at the paintings makes us imagine stories from the past. The paintings tell stories of religion and rural life on the walls of the outside of the building. If you have the chance to visit once, you will easily fall in love with this charming village.

Beautiful rural scenery in the center of Oberammergau, where dairy farming is thriving.
We recommend enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains.
The colorful walls painted on the white and cream-colored walls are so realistically painted that it's hard to believe they were made by humans! !
I was able to see brown Jersey cows, which are rare in Japan.
I was also able to find an illustration of a musical band.
Please look for them too.

German Alpine Route – Oberammergau
Oberammergau is a beautiful town at the foot of the Alps in southern Germany. The biggest feature of the town is the exquisite frescoes painted on the exterior walls of traditional German southern buildings. The themes cover various fairy tale scenes and religious activities. The content is very diverse and gorgeous. Among them, the fairy tales "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats" and "Handel and Gretel" painted on three houses are the most famous. If you come to southern Germany, you may want to stay here for a night to deeply experience the leisurely style of the southern German Alps countryside.
It is said that in 1632, the Holy Roman Empire was ravaged by the plague and a large number of people died, but the small town of Oberammergau miraculously escaped the disaster. In order to express their gratitude, the devout residents of the town have mobilized the entire village to perform "The Passion of the Christ" (Passionsspielen) in the town theater every 10 years since 1634. This performance has lasted for more than 370 years to date. This once-in-a-decade play is performed and produced by the residents of the small town. It is said that residents living outside the town will take a long vacation in the year of the performance to come back and participate in the production!
Dove Square in the center of the town is the most lively area in the village, surrounded by numerous businesses. Come out of Oberammergau Station, walk east along Bahnhofstr., cross the Ammer River and enter the densely populated area of the town. The town is small, but worth savoring. You can wander through the crisscrossing alleys, or stop in front of the colorful German-style houses to admire the beautiful and historic frescoes on the exterior walls and feel the most authentic southern German atmosphere.

In Bavaria
In Bavaria, it is very common to paint colored murals on the walls of the house. But in Oberammergau, I think that myopia has been popular in this town, so people have to draw fairy tales and religious stories on the outer walls of the house to see. Or, God used to come here to treat the whole town as a studio and treat each house as a canvas. Now, in this small town called Oberammergau, every house is like wearing gorgeous clothes. Each house can tell a story with a beautiful appearance. The whole town is like a mural museum.
This quaint town is surrounded by a wide valley surrounded by the Black Forest and the Almere Alps with snow on the top of the mountain. The town centre is full of traditional painted houses and woodcarving shops. Upper Ammerga is also famous for its complex woodcarvings. The workshop is spread throughout the town. Small enough to show the complete scene of the birth of Jesus on a walnut shell, to the sculpture of a life-size statue of the Virgin Mary, crafted by skilled craftsmen.
P6 This blue house is one of the town's landmarks, and it is the Passion of the Christ. It is one of the most ambitious buildings here, depicting the stories of Jesus before and after the crucifixion to commemorate the ravages of the town. Located at the intersection of the town center, it is very eye-catching.
In addition to the murals, each house in the town is also an old mansion with a history of hundreds of years. The ancient charm of the Middle Ages is everywhere here. Coupled with the makeup of the flowers, let us two hurried passengers also slowed down the pace. The locals in the sun are sitting alone in the coffee, there is no tour group, there are only a few free travellers like us. I was infected by such poetic feelings. If I was not on the road, I would like to learn to learn from the locals, steal a half-day life, and sit down in this century-old mural town.

The German
The German pastoral always makes people feel different. Although it is a rural land, it always gives a very regular feeling. It is like a planned green city, a regular grass slope, an isometric fence. The neat shrubs and the benches from time to time must be in a good view. There will always be a log cabin or barn in each landscape and a strange tree. I don't know if the Germans are interested in it, or the tacit understanding of everyone. In short, walking in the fields of Germany is always a very comfortable experience.
Da-image.
Oberammerg
Oberammergau is famous for its 10th annual Passion of the Passes, which has developed the surrounding tourism industry. Most of the tourists here are rushing passengers. There will always be some excitement during the day, but if you stay, you will find a Unlike Oberammergau, every time a visitor disperses, the noisy streets become quiet, the roadside shops become intimate, your vision becomes wider, and you will notice a lot of things that you haven't noticed during the day. There is a wonderful feeling that you are like a local, watching tourists coming and going, enjoying the fun that only you know the tourists but can't understand.
