As we left Zurich, the landscape quickly shifted from city buzz to peaceful countryside — rolling green hills, pristine lakes, and postcard villages all along the way. I made stops in Lucerne, Lausanne, and the stunning Lavaux region, where I stayed in Grandvaux for a few days (highly recommended for vineyard views and peaceful walks). The final leg into Geneva offered sweeping views over Lake Geneva, with the Alps rising in the background — an unforgettable arrival. Geneva itself was lively and elegant, with lakeside cafés, cultural spots, and a perfect end to a slow-travel adventure. There is a large pipe organ that used to play the music of the choir, which gives it a grand feel. If you go to Lausanne, Switzerland, be sure to visit the Lausanne Cathedral!

In December 2021, I stayed at a super luxury hotel right in front of Lake Geneva during my trip to Lausanne, Switzerland. This hotel is patronized by the Emperor of Japan, leaders of various countries, VIPs, etc., so it is not a suitable hotel for an ordinary person like me lol Prices start from 50,000 yen per night and all rooms are suites with balconies. It seems that Cristiano Ronaldo and French President Macron have also stayed here recently, and there were photos on display. Just looking at the Alps and Lake Geneva from the room makes me happy. The breakfast was also amazing. If you love sports and are interested in the history of Olympic games, the place definitely should be on the list of things to do, and it is also one of my favorite spots in Switzerland. I spent about 3-4 hours here, and thanks to the many interactive activities, my family had a lot of  fun, it well worth the time. We also had our lunch at the Tom café located on top of the museum where offers a great lake view and delicious food. Lausanne, Switzerland Nothing exciting happened in 2020, right? Two months before things went pop, I headed out to the city of Lausanne which is situated on the banks of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. This was my second day trip flying into Switzerland and this trip is situated slap bang in the middle of my Swiss Trilogy. But have you ever combined travel with a sporting event? When I booked this day trip to Lausanne, I immediately started searching what there was to do in Lausanne in January 2020. Little did I know that the Winter Youth Olympic Games were being held in the city right when I had booked my trip! After a quick search on the official website for the Winter Youth Olympics, I had tickets in my bag for the Ice Hockey finals. And the best thing - they were free! I’ve never watched Ice Hockey before. But the event was brilliant! I was captivated and it added an extra element to my trip that I hadn’t considered or enjoyed before. Last week I went to Le Pointu, a coffee shop in the city center of Lausanne. It was the weekend, so the shop was quite busy and full of people. In addition, the walls of the store are covered with various paintings, adding an artistic atmosphere that makes people stop and appreciate it. I ordered a cappuccino (4.9CHF). The latte art on this cup of coffee was in the shape of a heart, which was very pretty. Every sip of coffee was full of foam and had a mellow taste, which was just enough to bring a little relaxation during a busy weekend.
