Pingshan Village in Yi County is located near mountains and rivers, and the houses in the village are built along the banks of the stream. In order to facilitate the travel of residents on both sides, eight stone arch bridges were built on the stream during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, commonly known as the "Eight Ancient Bridges of Changning". The houses built along the stream, the quaint stone bridges, and the gurgling stream under the bridges constitute the typical rural charm of "small bridges, flowing water, and people". Pingshan Village is also called Shu Village because it is a village where the Shu family lives together. There are small streets along the stream, mostly small shops with shops in front and workshops in the back, or houses in front and shops in the back. There are seven ancestral halls preserved in the village, including Guangyu Hall and Chengdao Hall. Among them, Shuqingyu Hall is a very rare clan ancestral hall of the Ming Dynasty in southern Anhui, China. In addition, there are more than 200 Ming and Qing Dynasty houses, including the Sangu Temple where "three girls ate peaches and turned into carps to become immortals", Changning Lake where "sunken in the lake to die for love and turned into mandarin ducks", the imperial guards' wall-mounted memorial archway, Shu Xiuwen's former residence, Magnolia Courtyard, Gourd Well, Small Embroidery Building and other scenic spots and historical sites. Jiudu Shu Village has scenery in all seasons. In spring breeze and drizzle, peach blossoms rise in water; in summer, willows hang down to cool off; in autumn nights, the moon is admired and the bridge is reflected in the water; in winter, bamboo shoots sprout in the snow.
