I’ve learned from many experiences: If you want to have a good time, you must stay on Zhoushan Island! This time I chose the Pullman Zhoushan Hotel, which is located in the center of the island. As expected, I didn’t miss it. I stayed here so well that I didn’t want to leave! Not only is the transportation convenient, but it is also very close to the pier and airport. You can see the East China Sea and Zhujiajian Strait Bridge by opening the window. Putuo Mountain, a Buddhist sanctuary, with its ancient temples and melodious bell chimes, exudes tranquility and peace; Zhujiajian, with its soft, delicate sand and crystal-clear waters, is a perfect spot for fun and relaxation; and the quaint fishing villages scattered across the islands, with their rustic and serene ambiance, seem to make one forget the troubles of the world. The sand in One Hundred Steps Golden Beach is golden, pure and soft, just like a carpet. The waves splash on the beach day after day, making a rhythmed sound ceaselessly. The board water with little rocky reefs is a wonderful attraction for swimming-lovers. Swimming is only allowed in daytime between May and August. It will be more pleasant to walk on the beach barefoot. Stepping in the tender sand and letting the waves touch your feet, you will be more than comfortable and relaxed. When night comes, the pure sky bestrewed with resplendent star will give a life-long memory.

This island is filled with temples and people come here to pray. Best day to visit is not on the weekend. We came on Thursday and it was already lots of people, but it was not packed and crowded. As we were leaving the island on Friday, people were starting to arrive and it was very crowded. To get around the island, it is not hard. There are shuttle buses that you can catch, and pay as you go. On the bus station, it tells you the next bus destination, so you won't be lost. Really enjoyed the view from the cable car where you can have a bird's eye view looking out the island. Mount Putuo, here we go... Due to flight price considerations, we opted to fly to Ningbo instead of direct to Zhoushan. This also gave us a chance to explore Ningbo.
