A Modern Aesthetic Dialogue with Nature: Taking Your Child to Qiandao Lake During the Holiday
Muxin Vacation Guesthouse at Qiandao Lake features gray-white tones and natural wood materials with clean geometric lines. The designers cleverly preserved the original terrain, making the building appear to grow naturally from the mountainside. In the courtyard, a century-old camphor tree and an infinity pool create a dynamic landscape painting.
Our check-in was on the second floor in a lake-view room with 270-degree panoramic bay windows. The room comes equipped with floor heating, a custom King Koil mattress, and BOSE surround sound. The bathroom is paved with natural volcanic rock, and amenities feature the boutique fragrance brand Le Labo's Santal 33 series. The bedside cabinet contains sleep-enhancing aroma stones and singing bowl tuning forks—thoughtful details showing consideration for urban dwellers' physical and mental wellness.
In the guesthouse's open kitchen, you can watch chefs smoke organic Qiandao Lake fish heads with Longjing tea. Breakfast includes freshly made preserved vegetable pork zongzi and fermented rice balls. In the afternoon, you can experience Song Dynasty tea whisking techniques in the glass tea room, paired with local wild persimmon cakes.
The 200m² library houses thousands of art and travel books, with Danish Fritz Hansen Egg Chairs facing lake views reminiscent of ink paintings. The yoga platform, with its high negative ion content, offers morning classes led by professional instructors, while the temperature-controlled spa pool by the rock wall provides water massage therapy as you enjoy the sunset.
At Muxin, time flows with the rhythm of nature. Whether it's the first ray of sunlight piercing through the gardenia flowers in the morning mist, or the golden ripples created by boat lights on the lake at night, this place offers not just accommodation, but a sensory pilgrimage through the aesthetics of mountains and water.
