Shaohua Mountain Forest Park
Shaohua Mountain National Forest Park is located about 5 kilometers southeast of Huaxian County, Shaanxi Province, at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains, with a total area of about 6300 hectares. The altitude ranges from 600 to 2000 meters, and it is composed of five major scenic spots: Qianlong Temple, Shaohua Peak, Hongya Lake, Shimen Gorge, and Dense Forest Valley.
Shaohua Mountain is not only a famous Taoist mountain in China, but also a sister mountain of Xiyue Huashan. Because it is connected to Xiyue Huashan and faces each other from a distance, it is called 'Erhua', but it is lower than Huashan, so it is named Shaohua Mountain, also known as Xiaohua Mountain. Shaohua Mountain has a long history, and there are related records in the 'Shan Hai Jing' formed during the Warring States Period. During the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was a tourist attraction. Scientists like Zhang Heng came here to visit and left poems and texts. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Taoist Chen Tuan also practiced here.
