Walking into the Chalongkorn Royal Theatre, I felt like I was traveling through time and stepping into the soul of Thai culture. The Khon Opera dancers' every move was artistic, and the gorgeous masks and costumes were amazing, interpreting the solemnity and poetry of the ancient story. Although the language was different, I could still feel the pulse of emotions in the play through the narration and subtitles. This performance was not only a visual shock, but also a quiet cultural baptism, which made me feel respect and touched for Thai traditions.

Today, I went with my foreign relatives. They bought a ticket to enter Wat Phra Kaew for 500 baht. What do they get? 1. Visit the various zones of Wat Phra Kaew that are open. 2. You can visit the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. 3. Go see Khon at Sala Chalermkrung. 500 baht is a great deal for foreigners. We took the free shuttle bus which was waiting in front of the main exit of The Grand Palace to the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre, the bus started to depart an hour before the performance and the journey was around 15 minutes. The performances showcasing the Khon, an intricate masked and danced dramatic art recognized as UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. Seamlessly blend graceful traditional dance movements, captivating instrumental, vacal renditions and elaborate costumes. The Khon performances lasted about 30 minutes, it was literally a memorable experience and best of all. ⏩There have 3 scheduled performances daily which are at 1pm, followed by 2.30pm and then 4.00pm. ⏩ Overall rating: 4.8/5.
