Salisbury (pronounced Salisbury) is about an hour and a half away by train from London. Locals say that there is nothing there except the cathedral, but as a tourist, I enjoyed my walk because I could see a typical cute English country town. The cathedral is a historic building built in the 1200s, and the architecture of the cloister surrounding the courtyard is majestic but not outdated, making it a wonderful space. In addition, a copy of the Magna Carta is on display. The admission fee is 9 pounds, I think. There were many people relaxing on the surrounding lawn, and it felt like a place of relaxation for the locals. I visited on a Sunday, so there was a mobile amusement park in the shopping district, making it a lively day. The cathedral’s spire, standing at 123 metres, is the tallest in the UK and visible from miles away. Walking inside, you’re immediately struck by the soaring Gothic arches, the play of light through centuries-old stained glass, and the atmosphere of quiet reverence. It’s hard not to feel moved standing in a building that’s stood for over 750 years. One of the true highlights is the chance to see one of the original Magna Carta manuscripts housed in the Chapter House — a tangible link to a pivotal moment in world history. The display is thoughtfully curated and surprisingly moving. The cloisters and courtyard are perfect for a quiet moment of reflection, and if you're up for it, the tower tour (highly recommended!) offers incredible views over the surrounding city and countryside, along with fascinating insights into the cathedral’s construction. Best time to visit? A weekday morning is ideal — fewer crowds, softer light through the windows, and time to really soak in the atmosphere. A very large and beautiful church, both the interior and exterior are a must-see. The interior has a very high ceiling, making it the church with the highest ceiling in the UK. It is very spectacular and majestic! The church houses many treasures, including the oldest mechanical clock still in operation in the world, and the Chapter House has the original Magna Carta dedication.

After the visit to Stonehenge, we took a bus to the nearby Salisbury Cathedral. Salisbury Cathedral, formally the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, England. The cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese of Salisbury and is the seat of the Bishop of Salisbury. After visiting the Cathedral, we went to stroll the nearby park.
