Don't miss trying Yunnan-style food here. Any random restaurant you pick is guaranteed to be delicious as the recipes are quite similar. We tried eating at ‘Mittraphap Pai’ restaurant, and the must-try dish is the intensely flavored pork leg. When eaten with mantou, it blends perfectly. The serving size is large enough for 2-3 people. The vegetable dishes are also fresh and sweet as if they were just picked from the farm. It's an extremely satisfying breakfast.

This is a Chinese village on top of a mountain in Pai. I recommend taking a taxi from the center of Pai and having the driver wait for about 2 hours while you do some sightseeing. There are Chinese-style buildings and shops selling Chinese goods and food, and it seems you can rent Chinese clothes. There is also an observation deck called Yun Lai nearby, which we walked up to.
