A Simple Escape in the City During Long Weekend
#summervacay
Sometimes, the best kind of getaway doesn’t require crossing borders—just a shift in pace, a new view, and a little curiosity.
I started the day aboard the MRT, sitting at the front coach with a wide view of the winding tracks ahead. Watching the city unfold through the large glass window was unexpectedly calming—the curves of the track, the rhythmic sound of movement, the city momentarily paused behind a barrier of steel and sky.
Soon, I arrived at M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, my stay for the night. Clean, modern, and family-friendly, the hotel surprised me with a few welcome treats—fruits, drinks, and snacks. But the real gem was the rooftop infinity pool. As I floated at the edge of the water, the entire city stretched below. The cool blue water reflected the soft haze of the hills beyond. It felt like swimming in the sky.
The next stop was Secret Garden @ 1 Utama, a rooftop treasure tucked above a bustling mall. Surrounded by tropical blooms and shaded walkways, it offered a peaceful contrast to the lively shopping below. I took my time wandering through the greenery, enjoying the quiet and the beauty of plants thriving high above the city.
Each place on its own was simple. But together, they wove a small escape—an urban adventure that reminded me that you don’t always need faraway places to feel refreshed. Sometimes, all it takes is a train ride, a new view, and a few moments to pause and breathe.
