Zhenjiang two days and one night student travel guide
Day 1
Depart from Nanjing at noon 🚄 30min➡️Zhenjiang Station
📍Jinshan
🎫: 65 yuan
The temple is quite large and you need to climb some steps, but not too many and not too tiring. During holidays, you can enter the park a little later in the afternoon, around 3 o'clock. There will be fewer people around 5 o'clock, and you can take pictures of the empty scene without people. The entire temple is yellow in hue, and some of the windows and corridors are very photogenic.
🍜Dinner: Pot-covered noodles
How can you not eat pot cover noodles when you go to Zhenjiang! There is a noodle shop almost every few steps in Zhenjiang. We randomly found one near the Jinshan Temple scenic area. It felt average and not amazing. You must also try the braised pork, it tastes super delicious when dipped in Zhenjiang vinegar.
📍Xijindu
It is a commercial district similar to an ancient town, with a literary atmosphere and some interesting small shops, but most of the things sold seem to be similar throughout Jiangnan. You can take a walk here after dinner.
🏨Sheraton
We went there during the Qingming Festival holiday, and all hotels in Zhenjiang have increased their prices. The All Seasons Hotel costs 800 yuan, so we might as well just pay a little more and stay at the Sheraton. The hotel is not far from Zhenjiang Station, about 600 meters away and can be reached on foot. If you go there on weekdays, there are Four Seasons, Orange, and Lavande near Zhenjiang Station, and it is not far from the hotel to various attractions by taxi.
Day 2
🥙Yongan Road Vegetable Market
After waking up naturally, I went straight to the market for lunch. I don’t know why vegetable markets in various places have suddenly become popular recently, but they are really suitable for people like me who are greedy for everything and want to try everything. I recommend the salted egg yolk siu mai, which contains salted egg yolk, cheese and pork floss. I think it’s the best in the whole market! There are several shops selling tenderloin at one end of the market. I lined up in line for about fifteen minutes at one of them. After eating the tenderloin, I found that it was just ordinary tenderloin. In other words, there is no need to come here specifically for the tenderloin.
📍Beigushan
🎫: 40 yuan
It feels more like a big park. You need to climb some steps, but they are not too high. You can reach the top in about ten minutes without stopping. There are some elements of the Three Kingdoms, as well as the famous Ganlu Temple Iron Tower. You can see the Yangtze River from the top of the mountain, and the scenery is quite nice.
🐡Weiya Hotel
Zhenjiang's puffer fish is also very famous. There were too many people lining up at Yong'an Fish Restaurant during the holidays, so we went to Weiya Hotel. I ordered the chrysanthemum-colored puffer fish recommended by the waiter, which was said to be tastier. The price of 178 yuan per piece was also very good, but it didn’t taste as delicious as it was said to be.
🍢Three stinky dried
This is the most amazing food I have tasted in Zhenjiang. I originally wanted to try the old lady’s secret stinky dried tofu, but I went a little late and it was sold out, so I found this restaurant on the side of the road. It's sold by a very talkative uncle pushing a cart. I recommend stinky dried bean curd and rice cake, both of which are fried until crispy. The stinky dried bean curd absorbs juice very well, and the rice cake is crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside. If you can eat spicy food, I recommend adding some chili, it's super fragrant!
