[2025 Taipei Attraction] Travel Guide for Shezi Daotou Park (Updated Jul)

Today is sunny, perfect for running outside. There aren't many people here, and the area is large, so it's perfect for a cross-country race between a mother and her son who have become fat. Unfortunately, I still lost to Fat Tiger and sprained my foot... I heard that many people in Taipei don't know about this place, but it doesn't matter. You can ride a bicycle, have a picnic, run, fish, and of course, lie down and enjoy the view! Looking towards Bali, looking at the Guandu Bridge, and the flying water birds, this place really looks like a painting! I've decided to see who will come with me for a picnic next time. 📍 Location Shezidao Island Head Park is located at No. 212, Section 9, Yanping North Road, Shilin District, Taipei City, situated at the confluence of the Keelung River and the Tamsui River. ⸻ 🚗 Transportation • MRT and Bus: Take the MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Jiantan Station or Yuanshan Station, then transfer to the Red 10 or 215 bus to "Taipei Ocean Technology College Station." From there, it's a 3-5 minute walk to the park. • Bicycle: Follow the Shezidao Island cycling path, and the park is located at the end of the trail. ⸻ 📝 Personal Experience Shezidao Island Head Park is one of the few wetland parks in Taipei City that combines natural ecology with a tranquil atmosphere. Covering an area of about 1 hectare, the park may be small, but its expansive 270-degree river views offer a rare sense of openness in the city. Standing on the observation platform, you can see the bustling Guandu Temple and the majestic Guandu Bridge on the right, the towering Guanyin Mountain on the left, and even catch a glimpse of the Datun Mountain Range in the distance. The park features stone paths and wooden boardwalks, making it easy for visitors to get close to nature. The wetland is rich in biodiversity, with frequent sightings of water birds such as egrets, little egrets, and herons. During low tide, you can also observe fiddler crabs and mudskippers, providing excellent opportunities for nature enthusiasts to explore. Additionally, the park is connected to the Shezidao Island cycling path, making it ideal for biking or walking while enjoying the pastoral scenery and riverside views.
