There was a rock just beyond the cape, but the waves had hit it and it was frozen!
The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction of having come this far❗️ is amazing!

[Hokkaido] The history of the land carved into Nemuro, the easternmost point of Japan: "Nemuro Wheel Stone"
Nemuro, Hokkaido, is located at the easternmost point of Japan.
At Hanasaki Port, located at the base of the Nemuro Peninsula, there is a huge stone called "Nemuro Kurumaishi" that is engraved with the history of the earth.
This stone was created when magma erupted from the earth was rapidly cooled, and is called "Kurumaishi" because it has a radial joint that looks like a wheel, which is unique in the world.
It has been designated as a national natural monument due to its rarity and strangeness.
The Hanasaki Lighthouse stands on the Kurumaishi lying on the cliff, and it is very photogenic.
The parking lot is large, there is a promenade, and the sunset is beautiful, making it convenient for walking.
📍Location: Hanasaki Port, Nemuro City, Hokkaido
🗓️Open all year round
💰Free admission
🚗Access: About 12 minutes by car from Nemuro City, and about 35 minutes by bus from City Hall to Hanasaki Port

Hokkaido 🇯🇵 The ceiling of conveyor belt sushi?
Nemuro Hanamaru and Toriton are definitely the ones that everyone will recommend and argue about.
Same advantages: delicious and unique,
Same disadvantage: long queues.
So who should we choose?
Only children make the choice, both families want to eat it!
Today, let’s talk about Hanama Nemuro
As the name suggests, our store started in Nemuro, the easternmost point of Hokkaido.
The freshness of the ingredients is guaranteed.
So what are the must-eats and must-orders?
For those that are hung directly on the poster, please get one copy each first.
Usually the freshest ingredients of the season or a special experience of the season
The disadvantage is that when ordering, if you want to eat
Handwritten form required!
What if you don’t know Japanese? ?
Fortunately, Nemurohana usually has a menu for other people to prepare.
Advance reminder to staff
Will provide
Foreign menus have corresponding numbers
Just write the number.
So how do we overcome the biggest drawback, long waiting times?
If it is the branches that everyone often goes to,
In addition to the large number of tourists from other places, there are also local people queuing up together.
So the suggestion is to queue up before it opens and eat the first round!
If you have friends who drive themselves
It is recommended to choose a branch that is a little further away
Avoid the tourist crowds
It will be much easier to arrange
Like our previous two trips due to the itinerary and skiing
Just near Teine
Just go to Teine Maeda store
No need to queue, just take a seat, saving a lot of time.
Without further ado
Just use the food photos to eat!

[Hokkaido] The easternmost station in Japan: Nemuro Station on the Nemuro Main Line
#0yentravel
Nemuro Station is the terminal station of the JR Nemuro Main Line in Nemuro City, Hokkaido. With the closure of Higashi-Nemuro Station in March 2025, it became the easternmost station in Japan. The station building is simple, and the platform is a single track. The surrounding area is a quiet residential area, and it is not as lively as a tourist spot, but it has a nostalgic atmosphere. There is a bus stop in front of the station, and you can access Cape Nosappu and other places. When you visit, I recommend checking the timetable and planning your trip carefully, as there are few trains. This is a place I have always wanted to visit, and even if you are not a train fan, I think it is a station where you can feel the real feeling and excitement of being at the easternmost station in Japan.

Take the scenic Hanasaki Line to Cape Nosappu, the easternmost point of Japan with a view of the Northern Territories
#Spring0yentrip
The Hanasaki Line heading to Nemuro, the easternmost city of Japan, has fewer stations due to a decline in passenger numbers, and there are only five trains running. However, along the way, the beautiful scenery that makes you feel like you are in Hokkaido spreads out all the time, so you can't take your eyes off it. After a two and a half hour train journey from Kushiro, we changed to a bus and headed to Cape Nosappu, the easternmost point of Japan that the general public can reach. During the 50 minute ride, we saw people drying kelp here and there. And finally we arrived. This is the first time we've been to the "edge" of Japan since we went to Cape Soya, the northernmost point of Japan, last winter, but we still feel a sense of accomplishment, or rather, that we've come a long way. The weather was good that day, and we could see not only the Habomai Islands but also Kunashiri Island. I wonder if those islands will ever come back to Japan. We also received a certificate of reaching the fourth edge of mainland Japan, and we were very satisfied. It was the most memorable place we visited this time.
This is Higashi Nemuro Station.
This is Higashi Nemuro Station, which was recently abolished.
Higashi Nemuro Station in the past
#Transportation related information With the timetable change on March 15, 2025, the easternmost station became Nemuro Station. The one in the middle is the former Higashi-Nemuro Station. The rapid Hanasaki service is also gone. Kiha 54 series. The moquettes on the trains are cute.

Shunkunitai is like another world
#Shunkunitai, next to #LakeFuren on the way from #KushiroAirport to #Nemuro, is a place where you can see a spectacular view on a scale that seems out of Japan, even though it is in Japan.
It is a wetland designated under the Ramsar Convention, and there are several trekking courses set up. However, it is so vast that it can be a little scary to go deep inside alone, so be careful! There is a sign warning of brown bears at the back...🐻
In autumn, the red #coralgrass stands out against the blue sky, which is especially recommended✨
There are many different animals, so it is recommended for nature watching, and you can see professional photographers staying overnight hoping for the perfect photo opportunity.

Nemuro is a place where a lot of fresh seafood such as saury can be caught🐟
At "Izakaya Hyotan", I was able to eat a lot of fresh seafood from Nemuro👍️
The shrimp in particular was very delicious!! It was so tasty that it went perfectly with sake🍶
I was also glad to be able to eat other fresh fish such as "kinme" and "sanma"♪
The restaurant had a Showa retro atmosphere and was very relaxing♪

[Taie Akebono Branch: Nemuro City, Hokkaido] Nemuro's soul food "Yakitori Bento"
The yakitori bento is a local soul food loved in Nemuro👍️
They grilled the yakitori after the order was placed!!
But even though it's called a yakitori bento, it's actually pork skewers!!
The meat was delicious even when it was cold, and the bento had a nostalgic taste, so it was very delicious✨
The sauce was also delicious, so it went down well with the rice♪
The Taiei Akebono store is open from 6am, so it was helpful that I could go buy it even if I left early👍️

The monume
The monument of Cape Nosappu, one of the ten most scenic views of Nemuro, is located at the easternmost tip of Hokkaido, Japan. When you arrive at your destination, you must go to the Northern Territories Museum to ask the staff for the Japan Far East Arrival Certificate. If you want to try rural tourism, you can go there by car. For lunch, it is recommended to go to the conveyor belt sushi Nemuro Hanamaru main store, which is really cheap and delicious.
[Conveyor belt sushi restaurant Nemuro Hanamaru Nemuro branch: Nemuro City, Hokkaido] A famous conveyor belt sushi restaurant that is popular in Hokkaido.
This is a famous conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Nemuro. They also have restaurants in Sapporo and other areas, but I ate here in Nemuro, where they originated. It was a weekday afternoon, so I was able to go in without waiting. There was a lot of seafood caught in Nemuro, and the "striped shrimp" in particular was rich and delicious. The miso soup with Hanasaki crab was also full of ingredients and was very filling. It was very delicious. Also known as the Earth Exploration Railway, the Hanasaki Line
Also known as the Earth Exploration Railway, the Hanasaki Line
I was deeply impressed after riding on it once 7 years ago.
This is my second time sitting here, even though I felt a little sleepy after getting up early.
But I still pay attention to the scenery outside from time to time,
I also ran to the train driver’s compartment window to look at the scenery.
The railway route from Kushiro to Nemuro,
They are all local trains, there are no express trains
It takes about two hours and 30 minutes to get to Nemuro by road.
Although the movement speed is slow,
But there is a section where you can see the sea
In another large section, you can see a group of wild deer
Deer 🦌sometimes on or across railroad tracks
Train drivers are always alert
He won't honk the horn to scare or chase the sound
Will only reduce speed or stop
Waiting for Luli Express Railroad
Some deer are so cute standing next to the tracks and watching the trains
Other wild animals are sometimes seen
I have ridden on many Japanese railway routes.
But this railway is really full of natural ecological railway
One of my favorite railways

#100 Ways to Travel
The End, Cape Ochiishi
#100 Travel Style Head straight for the lighthouse from the car stop gate and walk through the boardwalk to the lighthouse in about 20 minutes.
However, I was so fascinated by the surrounding nature and wildlife that it took more than 20 minutes to get there (lol).
On the way there is an old radio communication station, which is now the studio of printmaker Ryoji Ikeda. It is usually closed, but apparently art events have been held there.
Once you leave the boardwalk, you can see the lighthouse.
I was able to enjoy the blue sea, herds of deer, foxes, and the great nature of eastern Hokkaido.
This is a place where nature lovers can spend half a day to a full day✨
Cape Nosappu, the easternmost point of Japan
This is the easternmost point of Japan.
You can play the game of "No one in Japan stands further east than me."
When it's clear, you can see the Northern Territories, and the nearest island, Kaigara Island, can be seen about 2 kilometers away. On the day I visited, I could see Kunashiri Island and the Habomai Islands, but I couldn't see Etorofu Island.
You can buy a certificate of reaching the easternmost point of Japan as a memento.
There is also a souvenir shop. The price is almost the same as other places, so you might want to buy some kelp as a souvenir.
Strangely shaped rocks
I dropped by for sightseeing.
It was so overwhelming that I thought, "Wow, nature!"
The roads were well-maintained and easy to walk on.
I was also overwhelmed by the ocean that spread out before me.
Free parking
Toilets available
Park your car and walk a short distance to Kurumaishi.
On the way to Kurumaishi, there is a small hut where you can do bird watching.
There is a notebook of memories there.
I felt so relaxed that all the troubles of everyday life seemed to fly away.
It's a little far from the city, but it's a place worth making the effort to visit!
Sunset at Shunkunitai
This is a place rich in nature in Nemuro City, Japan, that is open 24 hours a day. There is no admission fee. During bear season, you may not be able to go all the way in, but you can generally enter at any time. You can get there by public transportation by taking a regular bus from Nemuro Bus Terminal to Nemuro Nakashibetsu Airport and getting off in front of the Shunkunitai Nature Center. There are few tourists, so you can enjoy your own time. There is a nature center nearby, but please note that it closes at 5pm.
Nashabu Cape: magnificent scenery by the sea🌊🏞️🌅
#sapporoattractions
Cape Nashab is an amazing natural attraction. The seaside cliffs here are so magnificent. When I stood on the edge of the cliffs and looked down at the blue ocean, I couldn't help but feel shocked. 🏞️🌊💙The towering cliffs are in sharp contrast with the rough sea, making people feel the power of nature.
The beautiful scenery around Cape Nashabu is constantly changing and intoxicating. 🌳🚶♀️🍃The scenery here is so picturesque, whether it’s the morning light or the sunset, it makes people forget to leave. Especially at sunset, the setting sun dyes the sea surface into gold, like a gorgeous painting, and I can't help but pick up the camera to record this beautiful moment. 🌅📸❤️
In addition, the natural ecology around Cape Nashabu is also very rich, with seabirds soaring in the sky, adding to the lively atmosphere. 🕊️🌿✨This is undoubtedly a paradise for nature lovers and photographers. It makes me deeply appreciate the beauty and harmony of nature!
Certificate of Arrival at the easternmost point on mainland Japan, Cape Nasabushi, Nemuro City
The easternmost part of Japan is Nemuro City, Hokkaido. There are direct flights from Sapporo, you can also take a train or drive. The easternmost point is at Nasab Cape, about 30 minutes from Nemuro. There are buses but you need to pay attention to the bus schedule. Self-driving is more flexible and convenient.
When you arrive at Cape Nasab, you can get a free arrival certificate at the Nemuro City Northern Territory Museum (Figure 1). Each of the four poles in Japan has a certificate of arrival. The certificate has the date of arrival and the mayor's seal. When turned over, a large picture can be spelled out on the back.
Pay attention to the closing time. There are also several restaurants in Cape Nasab where you can eat Hanasaki crab dishes.
The actual easternmost point is the lighthouse in Figure 4. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the get off location. The lighthouse is currently under maintenance.
When visiting Nemuro, you can also dine at the very famous Nemuro Hanamaru main store. There are usually long queues at branches such as Tokyo.
The northernmost one is in Wakkanai City, Hokkaido, and the easternmost and southernmost ones are in Kyushu.
