The roads in Singapore are very clear, so clear that we can go take pictures. And most importantly, the view is very beautiful. The atmosphere is great, no need to ask. Spread over 3 levels, this is the place to go if you want to find out how the city is planned. Multi-media exhibits and giant sized physical city models explains all about the history of city planning and plans for the future. The highlight must surely be the Singapore island model at the 1st floor and CBD model at 2nd floor (with light and sound shows at certain times of day). I spent hours in here and will definitely go back again. There are several floors of cityscape models, urban planning displays, old historical maps and great interactive features. For anyone interested in how Singapore was developed, how the city works and it's plans for the future this is a must visit! The building itself is peaceful and beautiful inside with indoor atriums and water features. Around the outside are some intriguing sculptures and cool places to sit. There are plenty of activities for kids of all ages and a great place to visit for students of urban planning and design history. Previously named as the URA Centre, the current Singapore City Gallery has so much to offer. I was making a trip down in downtown and chanced upon this. I saw many foreign students on student visits and even professionals from the region exploring what our city has got to offer . I liked how the entire gallery, even though is not big, has much to showcase. There are touch-screens , animations, videos which kept the experience very interactive. Really not a dull moment. The gallery shows how Singapore has evolved over the years and how it has met people's changing needs by looking at different aspects of development. If your travelling purpose is studying local government’s attitudes and what is their future wish, this is a very good place for you! Located at 45 Maxwell Road in The URA Center, Singapore City Gallery offers an informative, immersive, and interactive gallery of showing the transformation of Singapore over the years. The location is not far away from tourist spots in Singapore so making a side trip to this gallery should not be an issue. Admission is free too! The gallery is very kid-friendly as the gallery is interactive very apt for families. Making the gallery interactive and immersive is a fun approach for a rather serious and educational topic. The highlight for me is the scale model of central Singapore and the projection show of the island wide model. I really took my time here. Wayfinding inside the gallery is not too hard. There are staff around that you can ask if you have questions. If you're the type of person who likes to learn when on a vacation, visit the gallery. You can catch guided tours led by URA volunteers on certain days and self-guided tour through an app for a more proper way of learning. The former City Hall and Supreme Court buildings have been refurbished to become Singapore’s National Gallery. It is the largest visual art gallery in the city-state and is mostly dedicated to local and Southeast Asian art from the 19th century to the present day. So all the pretty modern and contemporary stuff then.
