Summer resorts in northern Italy: Lake Garda & Simione
It was rare that I traveled to Italy for the first time and I chose to go with a tour group. However, because of the convenience of a tour bus, I unexpectedly visited Lake Garda and the small town of Simioni in northern Italy.
#GardaLake Lago di Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is located at the southern foot of the Alps in northern Italy. It is a lake formed by the melting of glaciers. The clear lake surface is picturesque and there are many high-end resort hotels on the shore. , has been a summer resort for nobles since the Middle Ages, and is now a European resort.
The traffic in Lake Garda is relatively inconvenient, so it is more suitable to drive there. However, there are many people in the summer peak season, and the roads are not big and only have second-lane roads, so there are often long queues of cars.
#Sirmione is a lakeside town located at the southern end of Lake Garda. It is a long and narrow peninsula. There is a Skalagar castle on the peninsula. The fortress was built in the 13th century and was under the rule of the Venetian Republic at that time.
Nowadays, Simioni has become a popular tourist and holiday attraction. There are many restaurants and hotels on the island. The warm sunshine and cool breeze blowing, walking on the streets of the ancient city are quite comfortable and comfortable.

Italian Aquaria Sirmione Hot Springs Spa☀️
There are no people, so I went to Aquaria Spa on Sirmione Island to play quietly~!🥰
I heard this is a famous spa in Italy~!
It was so nice to soak while looking at the lake😭
You can make a reservation in advance, but since it was a weekday, I just went and bought a ticketㅋㅋ!
It's 25 euros for 2 hours and 44 euros for 5 hours, so it's a little short for 2 hours, but it's a little long for 5 hours😅 It's a spa~!
We were there for a short 2 hoursㅋㅋㅋWe lost our phones in the middleㅠㅠ
I was a little out of itㅠ But it was the most enjoyable place during this trip💕👍👍 I highly recommend it

Every time I pass by, I am attracted by its display window😍The series of tableware and porcelain are so eye-catching! Especially those bowls and plates decorated with vegetables and various foods, such as pumpkin🎃丶lemon🍋丶Pizza丶pepper and so on~

It’s also very refreshing to soak in a hot spring in the midsummer sun~
This hot spring area is located in Sirmione, a lakeside town on Lake Garda in Italy. The hot spring water is certified and licensed and feels particularly pure👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
The spring water in the hot spring pool is about 34-36 degrees - just a little warm - and there are many hydromassage pools.
The hot spring pools are located indoors and outdoors, as well as massage pools, steam baths, saunas, and indoor rest spaces~
There is also a swimming pool that is only open in summer and faces the endless lake view, which is super beautiful.
The fees here are pretty good, and they also provide shower caps, yukata, towels, and shower gel made with hot spring water. Just bring your swimsuit and slippers and you're good to go.

Sirmione i
Sirmione is partly set on a peninsula that is stretched for about 4 km in the low Lake Garda, in the province of Brescia. The meridional city of the largest lake in Italy is an important cultural and health centre. The peninsula is about 30 km above sea level and it offers an incredible panorama.
Sirmione is famous for the unique charm of its old town centre, with its narrow and irregular alleys, for the Thermal Baths of Catullus, for the churches "Santa Maria Maggiore" and "San Pietro" in Mavino, for the ruin of the Roman Villa of the poet Catullus, known also as "Grotta di Catullo".
In Colombare in Sirmione, the weekly market takes place every Monday while in Lugana in Sirmione it takes place on Friday. These invite to wander in order to admire the antiques, the local products, the clothing, bags and shoes. After an active morning around the market, you can allow yourself a delicious meal in one of the inviting restaurants in the historical alleys of Sirmione.
Daily trips are organised in order to explore the most beautiful places around Sirmione, including boat tours.
The ruins of the biggest and most important Roman villa in the north of Italy is set on the last of the three hills of Sirmione. The building rises divided in three floors, whose bearing walls and columns are the only remains.
Among the main places of interest, there is the small museum near the town’s entrance that exposes various finds as bronze objects, coins, sculptures or graffiti rests.
A further important building is the "Castello Scagliero" in Sirmione with its typical swallowtail battlement, which was built as a protection for the low Lake Garda and for the fleets in the harbour.
Many events animate the historical Sirmione for the whole year, as for example cultural expositions and concerts. During the summer months, many other interesting events take place. Enjoy a holiday in the name of relax in one of the most beautiful cities on Lake Garda.

sirmione
a small town located on a peninsula in the southern part of Lake Garda, Italy. Sirmione is famous for its natural hot springs which have been used since Roman times. Sirmione has many cafes, restaurants and gelato shops serving typical Italian food
The clear waters of the lake frame the peninsula, while olive trees and colorful flowers add a Mediterranean touch. Although it can be crowded, especially in high season, especially in peak season, there are many quiet corners you can find to enjoy its charm.

A Fairy Tale on Water: The Scaligero Castle of Lake Garda!
Lake Garda (Lago di Garda), Italy's largest lake, nestles at the southern foot of the Alps with its crystal-clear waters embraced by rolling mountains. Formed by glacial melting, this breathtaking wonder is a beloved vacation paradise for Europeans.
The most awe-inspiring sight on the lake is undoubtedly the Scaligero Castle (Rocca Scaligera)—a medieval fortress that seems to have emerged straight from a fairy tale! Built in the 13th century, it has stood tall for 800 years through wind and rain.
This aquatic stronghold is surrounded by water on three sides, with only one side connected to land, making it appear like a floating fortress. Its towering turrets and distinctive swallow-tailed battlements (Merlo) showcase its formidable military defense. Once a crucial naval base controlling key lake routes, it held immense strategic importance.
On our journey from Venice to Milan, we paused by Lake Garda. Standing on a peninsula stretching into the heart of the lake, we gazed at the castle's reflection shimmering in the azure waters—a scene straight out of a medieval painting. This "castle on water" stands as a witness to history, a glittering gem on Lake Garda, like a fairy tale world brought to life!

Sirmione, the old town on Lake Garda, Italy
#GetDiscountNotDependingOnLuck
Lake Garda is another super chill place where Italian locals and Europeans often pass through during the weekend. You won't see many Asians because most Asian tourists go to Lake Como. I, who was walking alone on this trip, seemed to be the only one with dark hair (even though we came in spring, almost summer). But we saw the atmosphere of Italians who came as families, with children and some walking their dogs. I must say that there were a lot of people, with long traffic jams and it was very difficult to find parking. We had to park far away and take a shuttle bus to the village.
Since Lake Garda is quite large (the largest in Italy), there are many places to stop and see. But one place that you shouldn't miss is Sirmione. It is a long peninsula that juts into the water, so it is like a floating city that is quiet, with clear water and a well-preserved old town, including forts, castles, ancient city walls surrounded by water and houses decorated cutely.
There are many delicious restaurants, including gelato, which they say is highly competitive here with many flavors to choose from. There are also souvenir shops and brand-name shops before going to sit and relax on the pier in the evening. Waiting for the ferry back to Desenzano to catch the train

This is the ultimate Italian sensibility✨
I spent a whole day healing in Sirmione!
The blue waters of Lake Garda, the cute alleys of the old town, and even the 13th-century castle… Every single photo was like a scene from a fairy tale.
In the morning, healing time at a small beach full of locals!
Sirmione's calm atmosphere, old buildings, and alleys full of purple flowers were so pretty!
I understand why this place is famous as a healing travel destination!
I definitely want to come back next time, if you want to travel to a small Italian city, I highly recommend Sirmione💙

Exploring the Surroundings of Verona / Sirmione / Swimming in Lake Garda
I visited Sirmione, a charming town near Verona.
💙 From Verona's central station, you can take a bus and arrive in Sirmione in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. During peak season, buses may not enter Sirmione itself, dropping passengers off at the entrance where you can take a free shuttle bus. The directions are clear, and if you have time, it's worth stopping by. Staying overnight in Sirmione is also a great option. I fell in love with its stunning scenery.
♥️ Swimming in Lake Garda is another must-do activity in Sirmione. It's a different experience compared to swimming in the sea. The water is incredibly clear, and you can even swim alongside ducks.
💛 If I visit Italy again, I would definitely stay in Sirmione and spend time in this quaint northern Italian town. I’d enjoy leisurely bike rides and swimming while soaking in the serene atmosphere.
How could anyone not fall in love with this little town? 😍

Passionate Italian Journey (3) The Dazzling Pearl of Northern Italy - Lake Garda
Passionate Italian Journey (3) The Dazzling Pearl of Northern Italy - Lake Garda
Lake Garda
April 22, 2025 (Day 2 continued)
Leaving Milan, we drove 130 kilometers to Lake Garda.
Lake Garda (Image 1), located at the southern foothills of the Alps, halfway between Milan and Venice, is Italy's largest and cleanest lake.
Lake Garda, with its mild climate and unique water temperature (suitable for swimming from May to September), sun-drenched beaches and well-equipped small ports, palm trees and oleanders, olive trees and grapevines, appears like a sea nestled between the Po Valley and the Alps (Image 2).
Towns are scattered around the lake, and visitors can take boat trips to enjoy the lake views.
In the harbor of Sirmione, many yachts are docked to serve tourists (Image 3). We took a small boat around Sirmione, circling the lake to admire the intoxicating scenery of this beautiful lakeside town from the water (Images 4-5).
The town of Sirmione is situated on a very tiny, narrow peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Garda, extending about 4 kilometers into the lake. Its exceptional location makes Sirmione stand out among the towns around Lake Garda, becoming a leisure destination that still retains the traditional Italian cultural atmosphere (Images 6-7).
The town's landmark, Scaliger Castle (Scaligerburg), built in the 13th century, is a must-visit attraction. Standing on the central tower of the ancient castle, you can feel the intertwining of historical richness and natural beauty (Images 8-9).
Tonight we're staying in Verona, and tomorrow we'll head to the Dolomites.

Contemporary art exhibition at the Catullos Cave, the jewel of Lake Garda!
#Overseas travel #Sirmione #Catullos Cave #Italy travel #Roman ruins
Wow! I finally came to the Catullos Cave in Sirmione, the jewel of Lake Garda! 😍
Actually, it wasn't a cave, but a huge Roman villa ruin. It is said to have been built in the late 1st century BC to early 1st century AD. It is said to be the largest Roman villa ruin in northern Italy.
The remaining traces, such as the columns, arches, and mosaic floors, seemed to show the splendor of the time.
It was also great to walk around the garden full of olive trees. Ancient Roman ruins mixed with modern art pieces!
It was a really special and memorable time!
If you come to Sirmione, be sure to stop by 👍

As soon as I entered the castle, I was amazed by the medieval atmosphere and magnificent architecture. In particular, when I climbed up the castle tower, the view of Lake Garda and the surrounding scenery was really beautiful. It was a perfect place to take pictures.
